  5. It’s a hard one. I normally buy expensive and buy once, but £875 for a gigbag is insane. For that you could get 10 Hidersine ones. I reckon you need to start treating my old bass better or I’ll have to start proceedings to get it back.

  7. I would strongly recommend trying to go for a used, slightly higher-end starter bass rather than a brand new Squier Sonic, Markbass, or Harley Benton. Yes, those new starters are so much better than they used to be, but that quality has also trickled up to the lower end of the mid-quality basses. If you find a good used mid-range bass, especially one that's been a little abused, you could end up with a life-long bass instead of something you'll outgrow. Seriously, look at a used Sire or a Squier Classic Vibe. There's one in the classifieds right now for £250—which is "good Harley Benton" money. I recently had to grab a cheap bass for a wedding gig in Latvia. Flying with my expensive instruments is always risky and a pain, and hey, it was my wedding, I could do what I wanted! So instead of renting one for a week, which would have cost me about 300 Euros, I decided to just buy a bass in that price range. What followed was a great adventure, I went to every music shop in Riga to try out everything around that price. I'd tell the staff what I was up to, and they often gave me free rein, hooking me up with the same amp i use at home , some even offered to buy the bass back from me at a reduced rate afterwards. I went into it expecting to walk out with a Sire, a Markbass P , ibanez or maybe a used Harley Benton. What I ended up doing was falling completely in love with a fantastic Squier Classic Vibe P-bass. I took the neck off wrapped it all up in my clothes and paid for checked luggage to bring it home and i'm going to be rehearsing with it tomorrow, It has no business being as good as it is— My Stingray is sitting unloved in its case.
  8. Stiff Little Fingers last night at their annual homecoming gig. I missed Sham69 unfortunately. PiL were also in support. They were OK, but I was never a big fan. Ali McMordie sounded monster, as always. Near the end, they brought on Rory Gallagher's bassist, Gerry McAvoy, for a cover of Gallagher's "The Devil Made Me Do It", which sounded great.
  9. I just got back from Arctangent Festival. Three days of the slightly obscure end of metal and rock. Highlights were: Green Lung - Brilliant performance of old fashioned heavy metal with a bit of humor. Battlesnake - Australian metal with more than a hint of Spinal Tap. God Is An Astronaut - very atmospheric post rock. Emma Ruth Rundle - Solo acoustic, dark and utterly brilliant. Dvne - prog metal, like Mastadon but better. Future headliner. Karnivool - Prog metal, fantastic big production headline show Kylesa - Recently reformed sludge metal legends. Utterly brilliant and relentless. Rolo Tomassi - My favourite performance, legendary mathcore band. Amazing 20th anniversary show. So many others were also amazing.
  10. Understood Laurie, but obvs our needs differ. For toting the DBs about I can rely on the assistance of my roadie, the doughty @Silvia Bluejay, and the only gig I've ever played upstairs on DB was one where I happened to have a KK BabyBass with me, which Silvie carted - solo - up a spiral staircase while I was off finding a parking space. My problem with nylon gigbags built down to a price is that means that everything is built down to a price. The cheap nylon linings start to disintegrate within months, then the cheap zipper tags snap, then the cheap zippers themselves start to fail, and finally the cheap external handles start to rip free from the main bodybag. I'll not claim that I'm the world's gentlest equipment handler, but when I'm breaking down at 1am after playing three hours of rock'n'roll I find it hard to remember "Careful with that gigbag Eugene ...". @Beedster's Bulletproof Deluxe is the perfect solution, but that price! Far Canal.
  11. A vajazzle song eh? I see… 🤔
  12. Pedaltrain Nano plus (or Nano+ if you prefer) in good condition. 45 x 13 cm Soft side velcro on the top, and a bit on the underside for mounting PSU/Thunpinator/Buffer/Whatever. There's a bit of scratching on the logo on one side and some residue on the feet, no idea what it is but it doesn't affect performance (obviously). Bag is in good nick, there are some indentations on the base from the feet and PSU. The shoulder strap is a shoulder strap. Great for butter, plays like metal etc etc £40 posted, £35 collected from Bewdley, Worcs DY12 I'm in Leeds 14th-18th August, happy to meet up/possibly deliver if you're near the right motorway. Any questions (about the pedalboard) please ask

  13. I emailed yesterday and they created a parts ticket for me, they did want my customer number and bass serial number though. I'm just hoping gen2 V7 necks fit my gen1.
  14. Ta! It's only mobile phone footage but worked ok...

  19. This was on my board for a few years, never let me down but just fancied a change so I’ve got a boss chorus on the board now. The toneprint options make it a pretty versatile pedal, found myself mostly using the Duff McKagan toneprint. No original box for this unfortunately but will be packaged securely. Price includes postage in the UK, cheers
  20. Got this in a trade on here recently but it’s just not got much use. Between the green Russian and the grey stache that I own I have my fuzz needs covered. This one is two big muffs running in parallel, one of them has a standard tone control, the other has a mid boost/cut. Certainly a lot to play with and a lot of sounds to be gotten out of it! No original box with this but will be packaged securely. Price will include postage in the UK
  21. And rescrew everything tightly, but not overtightening.
  22. We have a song about the vanity of a particular type of woman, the operations they might have to improve the appearance of their genitalia and the various places that they might have piercings. Decided that is wasn't appropriate for the audience.
  23. I'd still choose a used one. The selection is wider, and the bass is stabilized over the time. A new one may be hit-and-miss.
  24. Hi. Thank you for looking. I'm selling my LM IV as I no longer use it. I have only used a couple of times for practices. It's in immaculate condition having been housed in a flight case. Ideally would prefer collection but can post at buyers expense Description below copied from Markbass LITTLE MARK IV The new Little Mark IV amps add some amazing features to our flagship Markbass Little Mark III amplifier, an industry standard for tone, portability and value. The new bi-band limiter featured on this amp responds faster and more dynamically to your playing. Its paired with a 500 watt power amp providing impeccable bass frequency reproduction thanks to our MPT proprietary amp specifically designed for bass. In addition the Little Mark IV features a mute switch, and the 3 way switch that that includes the options of a Flat, Scooped or FSW (Footswitchable) EQ options. KEY POINTS > Little Mark’s legacy Since our beginning 20 years ago, Markbass pioneered small amp design with its "Little Mark" series creating an industry standard thanks to their amp's compact size, light weight, along with its signature warm and natural sound. That legacy has been preserved with the Little Mark IV, and has evolved to include the addition of new features requested by many of our artists and customers. > Updated 4 band EQ, Old School filter, 3 way switch Our updated 4 band EQ section features very effective controls allowing you to easily find the sound you want, boosting or cutting up to 16dB for each of the 4 bands to cover all the tonal nuances needed in any genre of music. Additionally the Old School filter cuts your high frequencies and gives a round and smooth tone. The 3 way rotary-switch allows you to choose between a super-balanced flat tone, a scooped preset that drops the mids while boosting the lows and highs - giving a superb slap sound, or lastly the 'FSW' option to control both mute and the Scooped EQ on demand by connecting an optional dual footswitch. > Bi-band limiter Our new bi-band limiter responds faster and more dynamically to your playing than traditional limiters do and lets your high end "breathe" for a more natural sound. It makes our amp heads the best choice for anyone who enjoys a quick, punchy attack at high volumes. > MUTE / LINE OUT LEVEL CONTROL / PRE-POST EQ switch Featured on the front panel of the Little Mark IV series amps are a convenient mute switch, along with the Line Out level control knob that allows for precise control of the signal sent to the mixer/ PA. On the rear panel is a Pre-Post EQ switch allowing you to set the XLR output's routing to before or after your EQ as required. > MPT - MARK PROPRIETARY TECHNOLOGY Many other bass amps on the market use power amps that are not specifically designed for bass. At Markbass, Marco De Virgiliis invested heavily in R&D to develop proprietary power amp technology in house. Our MPT power amp was built from the ground up to respect and elevate the inherent tone of your instrument.
