  1. Past hour
  2. It’s a custom - the standard config is J/J and I’ve seen a few H/H and S/H but not a P/MM before. This one has a 3 way series/split coil/parallel toggle switch as well which is unusual. The top isn’t standard either - the pitting and holes are left exposed but they use a resin to stabilise it. It’s also a custom colour apparently.
  3. Not the 6 string. Bought the 4 string version back in 2014. It was a sturdy bit of kit, ebonol fretboard will likely out live 5 generations. Pretty sure a couple of BC'ers bought the 6 string, @Owen ?, a lad from New Zealand started a thread when landing the 7 string. Went by the name "Annoying Twit", should be easy enough to find that thread. Oh, don't know if it applies to later versions but "weighty" was often used to describe the early ones 👍
  4. Lovely! Is that a standard model with the P/MM pickups?
  5. I was wondering about a Godin A5, then at an open mic night I encountered somebody with one and had a feel of it. Far too chunky a neck for my liking. How does the GB-notreally5-4 neck compare to the A4, @Frank Blank?
  6. Two new ranges, the American Pro-Am and the American Amateur.
  7. I once owned a Godin A8 mandolin, and despite it sounding reasonable, nearby objects were attracted to move to it such was the gravitational pull brought about by the sheer mass of the thing. It would have made a decent weapon in a pub fight, but was far too heavy for something calling itself a Mandolin.
  8. Serial not found is a big red flag the blocks probably are stickers, but the ferrule and string retainers look a bit hooky to me, exactly as they did to @HeadlessBassist I’d say it was a bitsa
  9. @log That's the spirit my friend. The internet is stacked with naysayers but that's no reason why we should listen to them 😀 If I may offer another tip, for when new strings funds allow. Before swapping them over, outline the current bridge position on the body with masking tape. It's unlikely the old position will be perfect but it will be close enough to avoid starting the process from scratch. Play in good health 👍
  10. Surely it's the gender that it self-identifies as.
  11. That is a pretty thing! I love how the bottom of the bridge matches the curve of the body, very elegant.
  12. Haven't they been recruited for the Grand Masters' black helicopter?
  13. Today
  14. I agree, the headstock doesn't look right. It could just be the camera angle of course.
  15. Right click on the picture and select "Copy image address" and paste that in. https://i.imgur.com/Wy1GuHn.jpeg We in the UK can still only see it with a VPN though.
  16. You've not done something silly like turning the volume down on your bass have you? Or batteries running low? Either that, or like others have said you are ridiculously loud. Another Rumble 500 user here btw. That has plenty of power for pretty much any situation.
  17. PINBALLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://youtu.be/Esa_b-s206M
  18. Thank you! That part has been nagging at me, so I appreciate the positivity. I don't mind the angle, saddles zig-zag in their natural habitat.
  19. They’re shite photos of a bog standard USA jazz in natural from 2000/1. money seems ok on it
  20. I’ve got long scale Elixirs on my Mustang and Musicmaster and both cope fine with the full width string around the tuners, even the smaller diameter Musicmaster ones. Unfortunately Elixir don’t make short or medium scale sets so it’s the only option but works fine, as long as they are installed correctly. Flats might snap though.
  21. +1 My Rumble 500 coped with being used in a very loud blues rock band, and I don’t remember having it above 5 on the input and master level controls. In a case of ( to quote Deep Purple I think )’let’s have everything louder than everything else’ then your 800 may just be part of the melee, whilst being very loud itself if you see what I mean. As @Lozz196 says above, if you honestly think you need an extension cab, then get the 2x10. Not the same Neo speakers in that as your combo, but should sound fine nevertheless. Even better, just get everyone to turn down and it won’t cost you anything….
  22. This bass is a gem ! Awesomeness. Congrats !
  23. I left a band I’d been playing with for 16 years around a year ago, it was a jukebox band (which was great fun), we had a list of 120 songs or so and would get the audience to call out what they wanted to hear. The band was well received and almost always got repeat bookings. We all got on really well and there were no egos and very little bickering or disputes (if any tbh). i left to join a guitarist I’d played with about 5 years previous - I felt things were a little stale with my main band and also we had reduced the number of gigs we were doing, we used to gig 3 or 4 times a month when I joined, latterly we were doing 2 a month maximum and sometimes less. There were no gigs in August as that was considered holiday month. Did I make the right decision? Do I miss the guys? An I happy with the new band? Depending on when you ask me (my mood) would depend on the answer I give - an I entirely happy - no. Would I go back to the jukebox band - maybe. Have the band said anything to you regarding your performance? I’m my own worst critic and often I’ll over think things. If I were in your position I think I’d be wanting a heart to heart chat with the band leader before making any assumptions that they may be looking to replace you - better to discuss any concerns either of you may have and clear the air surely?
  24. End of headstock looks too big to me
  25. Hi Graham, am I correct in assuming this is 34ins long scale just like the Epiphone version?
