  1. Past hour
  2. i'll have a wee look at that but having just bought a new car before Xmas it'll need to wait till state pension comes in now. 😂 Dave.
  3. I'd hum loudly.
  4. Ah well, they'll have some more made up soon. I'd imagine it's the only way they can get rid of the horrid green ones, anyway. That 'Ford Signal Green' is a heinous colour. It should be illegal!
  5. Nice I've had my eye on one of these aswell.
  6. Maybe they weren't quick enough to turn the offer off!
  7. Yeah. Those 6 string bassists don't have any limits!!
  8. Going back to just playing properly again, last few years just seem to spend all my time fiddling with knob’s/settings on multi effects units. Bought a new amp (see my Laney post) and just happy plugging in and playing again learning some new sounds.
  9. I would assume they were left and right inputs to the PA, and would be expecting to ignore their cable and connect our left and right main output from the desk. However, I would also assume that someone somewhere had probably done something stupid and be prepared for that to be wrong and ask if they know what they are. I wouldn't be using that cable either way. It could be a mains issue in your house. Do you have other monitors you could try? You can try leaving it with the other ones to see if it still does it to rule out your RCF monitors.
  10. I'd say "instrument upkeep". Like dubbing your boots. So fine, still in.
  11. It is the "Old Religion", danced just before they sacrifice a virgil.
  12. Rich bought a Jazz bass from me, a nice smooth transanction..A gentleman to deal with Thanks Rich
  13. It would seem that people [like us] bought the hell out of them and now they're waiting to replenish stocks. Stack 'em high and sell 'em cheap - Tesco Value Bass range!
  14. Up for sale is this passive Sterling by Music Man Pete Wentz signature StingRay bass in a very eye catching Fiesta Red finish. I had a change of heart and withdrew my 40th anniversary Squier Jazz ad recently, so have put this up for sale as although I love it, it's the bass getting used least with my band and I've recently bought another bass. This is a very cool, passive StingRay in fantastic condition (small scratch on the back of the headstock pictured in the only sign of wear), with one of my favourite necks I've ever had on any bass. Roasted maple, stays straight throughout all seasons and feels great in the hand for those who like a chunkier bass neck. This also comes fitted with Dunlop Straploks and crucially; high quality Schaller BM tuners to replace the stock tuners which were to be blunt, utter garbage. As a passive bass with a single humbucker with just volume and tone controls it's less versatile than a regular StingRay, but it sounds great and it's a snarling rock beast that you can also get a lot of mellower tones out of. You will get most tonal variety from how and where in relation to the pickup you play it, rather than the tone control to bring out the dynamics of the fat sounding pickup. Also comes with a good quality Ritter gig bag; has a broken handle (as pictured) but all other straps and handles are in good working order. I would much prefer collection in person or half-way meet if you're reasonably close to Brighton in the South East. However, I do have a sturdy cardboard box to send this in so could look into sending at an additional cost to the buyer, and at their own risk (as it's not in a hard case so can't be insured by courier services). Please see my feedback for assurance of past honest dealings on the forum: Any questions, send me a message. Thanks.
  15. Thank you @Beedster I'll measure up the car boot and give it some serious thought!
  16. Unfortunately I would send it back.
  17. Just got an email that my delivery is pushed back to the 5th week!
  18. I play Classical guitar, so perhaps that's the same reason for me too. I haven't played for a few years, but have just restrung my Ramirez with the intention of getting back into it. I'll have to get used to the treble clef again!
  19. You could play Alright now up around the 25th fret on the D string?
  20. It was a Mexican.... One of my favourite live albums... an outstanding bass performance too! https://youtube.com/shorts/UWCFP3DMP-o?si=x6ZRBmq0_7SFK9ss
  21. I had an M6 5 string delivered yesterday. I've never really been great with setups and would appreciate some advice from someone more competent. Initial sounds were nice, B was definitely useable but didn't blow me away with stability like I'm guessing a 37" would, but overall happy with that aspect. The action was quite nice, I didn't measure, but seemed reasonably low, but there was all sorts of clank and buzz on the lower strings in the first 5 frets. I sighted down the neck and it appeared to have a back bow, more so on the treble side. I checked the relief by fretting first and last and the strings were touching against every fret. I put the allen key in the truss rod and realised it's been tightened up loads. I loosened it a 1/4 turn to try and relieve a little tension, and after a few minutes the action at the 12th was about 5mm. Doesn't appear there is enough adjustment left in the saddles to get it down to a reasonable action. To me, this suggests the neck angle is wrong? It was a B Stock model so I wondered if the initial owner wanted low action and had just cranked the truss rod, but then I saw a review on Andertons - translated from French: Curious what other people would do. I really want to like this bass but low-ish action is quite important to me, and I don't want something that is potentially flawed. Thanks Simon
  22. Nothing unless you’ve positioned it very carefully and you’re also very careful with the bass. My Chadwick required the post be removed and reinstalled with each breakdown, simple job due to the design. If I were modifying a standard bass now I’d also engineer a device to install between gigs to keep the soundpost in place 👌
  23. A Stagg EUB could be the perfect entry ticket then, Dave?
  24. Keep us posted on how Kiwi's neck is as i have looked at the thread on BC. Dave
