  1. Past hour
  2. I’m now part of the club, a Sandberg California TT Superlight now in the house.
  3. Job lot of Lava Tightrope Solderless cables. 28 cables of varying in length from approx 2 inches to 2 feet, plus 1 long (2ft ish) George L's cable that I found in a drawer that i'll throw in. Most worked fine the last time I had them on a board, some probably need to re-assembled (haven't got the time to test them all at the moment). A couple scraps of used cable that can be trimmed/reassembled into new cables, and one purple bit of cable that has never been used. These are super simple to put together, there's plenty of videos on YouTube of the process. Will include one of the cable stripping tools as well. £200 + postage for the lot. The current Lava cable sets are £60 for 10 jacks/5 cables, so this is a pretty good deal.
  4. Hey Simon What is it that didnt work for you? What sort of vibe do they produce?
  5. After years of playing Fender P basses, I've recently started getting an issue with the forefinger of my fretting hand after playing, especially if it's a 2 gig weekend, possibly the early signs of arthritis. Having Sandberg's in the past I took the plunge on this lefty TT4, as I've always loved the necks. Three gigs later & no issues with my fretting hand. Added bonus it only weighs 3.5kg 😊
  6. Here’s a question for you experts. My hootenanny button is missing. Should it be the same as the other strap buttons, and what sort of screw holds it in? It can’t be a normal screw as it’ll be too long, but a pickguard sized screw surely is too small to hold any weight (not that I’d actually use it?)
  7. It's just the second thing I've done using Garageband on iPad, a focusrite audio interface and some headphones I can't remember the name of. What I've learned is it sounds flat in the headphones but it is actually trebley and not bass enough. Will have to adjust or get some new cans.
  8. What? Few days ago here was a Series II Arpege for sale, and now a Series III Passion. Help!
  9. In addition to all of the aforementioned… Try not to concentrate too much on the mechanics of what you’re doing but instead try to listen, as if you are listening to someone else playing. It’s hard to explain, but I find that if I “take a step back” mentally and listen to the whole, rather than concentrating on what I’m doing, then everything seems to come together more naturally and it’s easier to relax, which itself is important.
  10. Rejoined the Sandberg club with this lefty TT4, soft aged metallic orange with a birdseye roasted maple neck. Three gigs under it's belt so far, loving it 😊
  11. That was a beauty miles, I remember it well
  12. Just wanted to echo what others have said. Practice is the only way... However, HOW you practice can help a lot. I joined a band where I have to really sing for the first time a year ago and I found that singing my parts while doing other tasks made them a lot more routine. So singing while driving (easy), singing while doing the dishes (medium), singing while running (not as hard as you'd think!) - do something with your hands that's not quite as hard as playing bass while you're learning the vocal parts and you'll be more than halfway there when you strap it on. The other half is knowing the bass parts cold. You don't wanna be thinking about anything but the two tasks at hand so until you're really cooking on stage in this situation, play the lines exactly the same way note for note every single time.
  13. A bit of a failure. I have gone back and fore with this one several times but cannot begin to make sense of the arpeggios he is using in the middle section. I have some shapes but cannot find a way to write them down that allows for it to be interpreted accurately. The whole performance is out of time and so the whole transcription is a vague approximation but it is such a lovely performance, I didn't want to leave the work that I had done, or at least tried to do, rotting on a hard drive in Felixstowe! So, here is my approximation of the YouTube video 'Jeff Berlin Improvises Beethoven'. I hope it is of use to someone. I think this is JB's best solo bass performance of all of those tunes he has tried. It sounds genuinely beautiful and not just 'clever'. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/jeff-berlin-improvises-beethoven-ish-jeff-berlin/
  14. That's the place I bought the 1965 P I had for a while from. Good experience, good people to deal with.
  15. Sometimes it's just easier to go with the flow. I've definitely plugged a 1/4" patch cable between my Sansamp and a Behringer DI box before. Leaving a perfectly good (probably better) xlr on the Sansamp unused. I'll pick my battles.
  16. Have you tried booking under the guise of a pothead that wants to have a mini rave and damage all the equipment? I believe they are welcomed
  17. That's what the security guard said when I tried to leave Tesco without paying. He was wrong.
  18. Are you telling us to like it or asking us if we like it?
  19. 4 decades of life = a cover for 4 basses!
  20. Lol....ya just can't help yourselves..
  21. I went back to check my invoice Rob and I should apologise to Evri as it was Parcelforce 48 that I booked and the dimensions were 110 x 48 x 13
  22. Headless Bass String adapter to convert from double ball to standard string fitting i have two of these both brand new and never used. one is in a chrome finish and the other is a gloss black finish both come with fitting screws and allen keys. £9 each price includes uk mainland postage.
  23. Blimey chaps. I can’t imagine the difficulties you have faced but this really illustrates the importance of our hobby and the pleasure it can bring. For me, playing, talking about gear and buying stuff has always been an escape from far less pressing concerns. All the best to you both. I love that amp, beautiful looking thing. Enjoy
