Oooooh I like this game. The good: Sansamp. I wanted a more old school sound and the internet peer pressured me into buying a sansamp. I went for the paradriver, fearing the mid scoop of the bddi, and I absolutely love it. It's the only thing I've profiled on my QC. Countryman Type 85. In the early days TB told me I'd need a di box. They also told me that the countryman was the best. They were kind of right. It's been 20 years and it's the longest serving piece of gear I own. The bad: B string. Fives have extended range, they're more versatile, everything you can do on a four you can do on a five. Humbug. My first Stingray, a realisation of my dream bass, my crowning achievement as a bassist, custom made for me by ebmm, all wasted by ticking the five string box on the form. If that bass had been a four I'd still have it for sure. Quad cortex. I like modellers, that's the best modeller. Right? Still not convinced it's as good as my helix was.

Last gig I connected to our A&H CQ mixer with the CQ4U app on my phone. Pretty much set it and left it with just a few tweaks. Great for me as we were using an electronic kit. Maybe OTT for small pub gigs but I wouldn’t be without it now. Takes a lot less space than having floor monitors and I can hear what I need. 🤷♂️

Problem I have is that dressing like a tart in a Glam band means most punters think I’m a roadie once out of stage wear so I never get the hero worship I deserve 🤣🤣🤣

If you want fuzz this will give it to you in spades. A few marks and some velcro on the back but otherwise it's in good condition. I'm having a clearout at the moment as I haven't been in a band for a few years now, otherwise I'd be keeping it. I'm afraid I can't find the box but it will be packed well when posted.

Yeah that’s the sort of thing I was thinking of but then I saw a used version of the Soul Mate which seems to offer a similar set of features plus some useful additions. I really like FKY audio stuff (Had the Meridian Funk-u-lator made by the same guy but for Meridian guitars) so I’ll check out some more demos of it.

Can't be a song if it's not got singing. A "diity" is more cringe than a "track". -

Similar thing happened to me a few gigs ago, fortunately @Happy Jack was on hand to sort out the speakon cable which wasn't fully inserted in to the cab.

Bought this a year or so back, always wanted one. However, I never really had the chance to use it in the band. Having a clear out, and really can’t justify keeping it. Few chips on the front from carrying it, some surface scratches on the rear, nothing major. I’ll ask £50, half price, £5 postage which will go towards the sending. Payment by PayPal ‘gift’ please. PM with any questions, thanks for looking! SB 😀

Last gig while soundchecking, no sound from the bass. Soundguy "Is the amp switched on?". Me "yes". Now in my defence it looked like the amp light was on. But it was an outside gig and it was just the sun shining on it, making it look bright. When the sound walked over and turned the amp on I looked like a right 🤬 I've only been gigging for 40 years 😖

I've had them through a venue I used to mix in. J Mascis has the loudest guitar rig I've ever stood in front of. Three full stacks behind him, dimed, and then just in case he can't hear himself there's a Fender Twin stood on a flightcase at ear level just off stage to his right 🤯 Great band though!

I agree……I have one and use it regularly. Not cheap though.

@lvrossem, if you're near Antwerp, contact Axl Peleman, he is an excellent professional bassist, alongside a super cool guy, and he could certainly help you a lot with these beginner's issues. https://m.facebook.com/100077285695087/ Say hello from Tony in Etalle, where he came home to buy my Takamine TB10 and we had a very long talk around a cuppa.
