  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks this is just what I was looking for, it fulfills the 'Christmas Present' part of the brief in looking more satisfying than a set of 'wires' and being in just about the right price range. The little diamond files from Ali Express are what I would buy myself for a one off job so many thanks to @kodiakblair and @tauzero for their advice too. Let's see what Santa brings
  3. A wicked powerhouse bass!! Been in my possession since new after I did some promo videos for Aria. Studio use only, never gigged. Slight scratch on the back (pictured). No gigbag/case. Collection only from SW London.
  4. That's great - thanks Silky 👍
  5. Dan Coggins, the original Lovetone man is involved with thorpyfx on this so very much live
  6. Is the original company dissolved maybe? It's pretty cheeky of Behringer to say they've been on 'a proper mission' to 'bring back' a bunch of pedals that have just straight up copied, (unless that line is Anderton's own work) but I know this is not uncommon in the pedal world and lots of clones are available. Copying the graphics this closely is taking the piss a bit though. I haven't tried the B-tron or the Meatringer but I'm curious to see what Lovetone will bring to the party. The only thing I would find useful would be a foot switchable effects loop like you find on the Chromatron but beyond that, and as someone who loves the original massive housing, I'm not sure how you could improve it.
  7. I'd refer you to the BB mega thread - 394 pages all about Yamaha BBs 😅 https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/302794-the-yamaha-bb-mega-thread/#comment-3263093
  8. Just to make it clear - I'm not on any commission! 😇
  9. A really great Mexican P bass from Fender! Bought new from Andertons in 2021 for a handful of gigs, and has been my backup P bass for a couple of years, but has spent most of its life on a guitar rack or in a case. All original apart from the Schaller strap locks (black). No case. Collection only from SW London.
  10. Bought my G&L 5. Easy as.
  11. It's the last few weeks of this year's abstinence thread and we've got @Bass Direct in here waving the wand of temptation at people. 😂😂😂
  12. Maybe one of the best seller and Jazz 6 over there. GLWYS dear friend ! 😊
  13. Last night was my first concert with Keswick Choral Society. Main Christmas concert. Full house. Went well, no obvious disasters! The biggest piece we did was by Cecilia McDowall: Christus Natus Est which is a working of various Medieval tunes including Personent Hodie, Entre le boeuf, Gaudete, etc. This is a contemporary work written in 2007.
  14. If it's a live brand it's a lot easier to send Behringer a cease and desist letter for using name and trade dress?
  15. Im about to move into a new flat and basically need everything 🤣 so a few odds and ends will find their way up for sale. This is a fantastic pedal, a licensed version of the vaunted Bugbrand bugcrusher which is very expensive. Its a sample rate reducer with clean blend and one of the most musical ive ever tried. It took me ages to find one used, but i lterally use it on two tunes with a band that rarely gigs, so up it goes. Its in fantastic condition with a lovely sparkly silver finish, its got velcro on the bottom, no box unfortunately. Will part ex toward a decent conmpressor pedal. £85 incl UK only delivery

  16. Just done 3 evenings on the bounce, which is quite different for me. Yesterday with my usual melodic metal band, Monday with the slightly more symphonic metal band I've been depping for the last year - but have very recently joined as a permanent member following the eventual departure of their existing bassist, and Sunday with a pub lesser-spotted-covers outfit involving the drummer from the former-dep band. The term 'my band' needs some clarification going forward as there are now three of them, but I'll go with it for now. My band hasn't had a full meet since mid-September due to various work and family bits, so it was nice to get back in the room for the last blast of the year. We have the local Metal 2 The Masses competition in early January (we enter every year; I can't see us ever winning it, but it's a bit of fun) so it was good to find that we could all still remember the songs. To quote our drummer, it's like riding a bike; you never lose the ability to fall off. Warwick RB Streamer LX 5 (passive) -> Joyo 5GHz bugs -> [Boss TU-2 -> EBS MultiComp] -> Mesa D-800 -> Barefaced One10 (x2) Also pulled my modded Harley Benton PJ-5 out of storage and played it for a few songs. It's far too good to just sit in storage so I brought it back home. My new band is a bit more organised and busy, so we had a run-through of the set for a headline gig next Friday. I need to do something about upping my ear protection as the rehearsal room is decidedly medium but with a large PA at play, and my ears are singing. I think part of the problem is that my usual vented Doc's weren't quite cutting it so I bought some new unvented ones in the same size.. but the material has changed and they feel just a little smaller so I'm not sure they're sealing properly. I'll have to buy the next size up before Monday, and also take my Flare Isolates just in case. Warwick RB Streamer LX 5 (passive) -> Joyo 5GHz bugs -> [Boss TU-3w -> MXR M87 -> Sansamp BDDI v2] -> TC BAM200 -> Hartke VX215 The covers outfit is very much just getting going and we're still working around some mismatches in musical taste. I'm travelling hopefully, but at the same time I've told them very openly that I'm not in music for money and won't give up my evenings to play stuff I don't like just because I'm getting fifty quid for it. We've got an initial twenty or so songs that are sounding decent after only a few weeks, but bands like that need a fair bit of material so we'll see how hard the next twenty are to find and take it from there. They're good lads, so fingers crossed. Fazley Piranha 5 (heavily modded) -> TC BAM200 -> Hartke VX215
  17. 1.25 m is a very unstandard measure. Use 1.00 m as a reference. Although your room has furniture, it is recommended to have a space that has minimal amount of reflections and reflective surfaces. They tend to boost suitable frequencies. Measuring a speaker, beware: the placement of the microphone can boost the low or the high end. You should have a calibrator to your system.

  19. On this topic - how do the various vintage BBs compare to the 734a in terms of feel or sound? I've been looking online at BB300s and BB450s lately and the 450 in particular seems like it would have a fairly similar tone. I've also been lusting after BB1200s online and whilst that only has a P-style pickup the few videos I've seen of people playing them, the tone sounds so growly and fierce, exactly like a newer 734.

  21. I might have to drive over and try that Rinaldis EVO FX5. I have absolutely no money spare, but I am really curious to know what they are like. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/rinaldis-evo-fx5-pre-owned/
