  2. Wonderful ideas, people, but I don't want to attack this bass with power tools any more than it already has - it's already had holes filled and redrilled for F pattern 5 screw bridges. My ultimate goal would be to obtain an original Fernandes BB-8 bridge and return it to how it was designed in the first place.
  3. Yet another Salisbury Live gig but proper old school Salisbury Live...we're playing the same night as a bunch of other bands are playing boozers around town. Not sure but we might be the only originals band on that night so we'll have to push a little harder to get an audience that usually want something familiar sounding. Hopefully the Muppet image will help 😂
  4. I'm still waiting for some consensus on their long-term reliability. I haven't heard nearly the amount of complaints that I've heard about the old Portaflex series and the SVT-7, but I have heard a few. Mostly about the lower-powered models, strangely.
  5. I certainly count myself very fortunate in that I've never had any difficulty swapping between 4 and 5.

  8. Great sounding and easy to use. Decent amp and cab sim and good bread and butter effects. Good condition, mainly home use and a few rehearsals. Only selling as I realised I was only using it as a tuner and compressor. Should be easy enough to post. Let me know if you have any questions. Cheers.

  17. Just saw this on facebook and can't help think someone has missed the point of pedals in that having the flexibility to changes things is the main draw. Nevertheless there is a bit of me that things this is otherwise quite cool, and I am aware that some touring musicians (e.g. Ed Sheeran) do something similar to reduce faff on stage...
  18. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. I did get some replies over in the Double bass section and the advice was either a SM57 or equivalent wrapped in a towel and wedged under the tailpiece pointing at the bridge or a cardoid of some sort on a stand in front of the bass. I ended up going for the Rode M3, on a stand about 6-8 inches in front and slightly above the bridge, it seemed to work well enough, i could hear the bass from the back of the (smallish) hall, it was a 4 piece band (Guitar, Violin, accordion and double bass, with a mic for calling and another for singer songwriter spots. It wasn't a high volume gig either which helps. the guitar and violin had pickups and i used another Rode M3 in front of the Accordion which also seemed to work fairly well. I wasn't there for the actual performance as it was a small private party but from the reports i got back it went well and everyone was happy.
  22. I played a 5 string Thumb for 20 years, just got another one, luckily I love the sound they make. I get on fairly well with MM SR5's and I had Alan at ACG build me a 17mm spaced Krell fretless which is a beauty. I'd love a Pedulla Pentabuzz or a Mark 3 Wal, but the spacing just doesn't work.
