Acrylic "providing a resonance that enhances its sound quality"? So a sort of dull click, then. -

"it has been kept in a smoke free house when not used on gigs". No smoke in the house, but just about everything else... -

That's very kind of you to offer, thank you. I think I'll give it another go myself and see if I've learned anything from my first go. If it's another mess then I'll be in touch.

Blimey. 48 hours coiled up in a bow of oil?! Seems kinda extreme to me. But then I just had to replace a string today, because of an outdoor gig on a rainy day. Maybeq I could have saved it if I had whacked it in a bowl of oil immediately after playing.

Bass Wielder started following T-Rex Octavius pedal
-
*PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

SR Technology Bass Fidelity 10 Combo
Bass Wielder replied to Bass Wielder's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
Updated pics to show: *Swapped the castors/wheels to slightly bigger but much better quality set. Easier to move without trolley. * Resprayed spk ‘mount’ face (from white to black) using high quality/tough product as the white paint was flaking a bit. This has improved the look and protection. Loaned recently a fellow bass player (who was in a spot) and he raved about the quality of this combo. Actually said it had ‘better’ tonal options than his beloved Mark bass separates🤫🤐🤷🏾♂️😎 Shamelessly bumped for more views… -
Converting PJB Suitcase combo to cab
Downunderwonder replied to leroybasslines's topic in Amps and Cabs
First you want to test each driver that it A, hasn't failed to a open circuit by putting multimeter on DCR ohms. Should measure somewhere from 3 to 14 ohms. Less than 3 I would suspect failed short circuit which would explain the amp going poof. B, still makes a thump with 9v battery. The DCR measure is a little less than the nominal impedance for the driver. That will inform the choice of wring scheme. Given your substitute amp has way far more power than you need it might not be a bad idea to go high on the cab impedance wiring, to cut down on risk of blowing it up. Eg 4x16 ohm can be 16 as a series parallel instead of 4 ohm parallel. 4x4ohm can be 16 all in series instead of 4 series parallel. Your pjb box may have had the amp taking up some internal volume? Probably not enough to upset the tuning if you block it off nice and good. -
Silky999 started following The spray booth is finished…..well nearly….

So apart from a HVAC filter that is still to be delivered, the spray booth is finished. Constructed from 18mm MDF with plans generated by ChatGPT, an adapted dj light stand for a jig, a used hydroponics extractor fan off eBay and a Mr Bezos led batten light. The duct tape is not holding it together but just some extra sealing on the panel joints as well as glue and screws. The baffle protecting the extractor filter from overspray just slides out so I can change the filter easily. I am hoping that this will make spraying easier, quicker and yield better results. I will look to support the hoses better so reduce the angles at the extractor fan and improve airflow. I was also not worried about the interior look as it will soon be covered in paint lol. I just need something to spray now……..
