  2. Dunno, ask Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor about that...
  3. People will not have heard of her before. People will have subscribed to her. There is no such thing as bad publicity.
  4. Slipping out of the groove in the roller saddle on the Schaller bridge when slapping due to the low break angle, I believe. Mark King said something similar and that is part of the reason why he ditched his pair. The owner was and may still be a member. I don't recall his username, but if you do a search for Pangborn, you can read it in his own words. You will have to go back a ways but there is not that much Pangborn content. What you say is true, though the late John Diggins always maintained that the initial similarity was more of a happy accident and based in large part on a customer's design specifications, which was an attempt to copy an Alembic. He would also say that Ashley Pangborn spent a fair bit of time studying his instruments at trade shows over the years and you can see them evolve closer to a JD, for example, in terms of the control layout. That said, Pangborn's instruments were (mostly) neck throughs, while JD stuck with the set neck design.
  5. Musicman Sterling 4H Bass USA & Original Case Lovely example of the earlier Sterling model (not to be confused with the Sterling imports from the East) I picked up in a trade on here this year. Made in the US in 2000 it has a recessed neck plate, three band EQ and slimmer body and neck. This is a rarer version with a black sparkle finish and matching headstock. It comes with original pearloid scratch-plate and a plain black laminated one. It weighs 3.9kgs so a nice lightweight example of this bass. Lovely balance and set up. It’s very easy to play and currently strung with D’Addario 40-100 nickel roundwounds. No issues other than a couple of hard to see dings. Great bass, only selling as it is rarely used since I prefer maple boards. Pickup preferred but I can post in the UK at buyer’s cost. No trades.

  6. Just a quick look at some of those (checked them with obligatory, opening ad paused, so no ‘watched’ registered) and that video has really backfired for her.
  7. I bought an Akai Midi Pad from Alan. Super easy and friendly transaction. Posted quickly, and arrived exactly as planned. Pleasure, thanks 👍 Alex
  8. Hi Sarah, could i come and have a look tomorrow please?
  9. Merry Christmas 🙂 Thank you for all the support again this year it is very much appreciated. Jon
  10. Looks like the original version which sounds a fair bit nicer than the more recent Mk3/Mk4 models!
  11. Try Boney M's Xmas album. I'd say different versions. No, I can't say I like them.
  12. Straight No Chaser - 12 days of Christmas. It's a cracker (sorry). Not unusual, but I'm loving the bass playing on The Waitresses crimbo number this year. I must learn it! If you like jazz, the Diana Krall Christmas album.
  13. PM'd re. EBS Unichorus

  15. Hi Bill Fitzmaurice. Just giving you an update on my crossover progress. So I've been running my bass cab with the crossover unit I built, as in the above photo, for about a year now but for some reason I'm getting a lot of "clipping" on my low notes, most notably on the E string. The amp I use to run the cabs is an Little Mark Tube 500 watts. My speakers are as I explained In my first question to you dated July 23rd. 2023. Do you think it could be the crossover unit causing the "clipping?" Should I try something else? Thanks. Dev
  16. I've heard some signed bands are like that. It happened to us before. We were to open for Samantha Fish and we were cancelled for the same reason. Daryl
  17. The genie is long out of the bottle. Influencers earn their living from clickbait, whether that be players or personalities. Debating the pros and cons is pointless. Good luck to them but it's a game I have no interest in playing. Other than to lament its existence to other bass players!!
  18. There is a separate thread about AI, probably loads of Rick Beato content. But she is right, not because it's better, but because it's easy for people to use than spend a lifetime becoming an expert musician. It won't matter because pretty soon music tracks will all be 30 seconds long in the same way as songs reduced down to 3 minutes in the 60s. And when no one knows how to play instruments we will be worse off. Demolition Man stops being another dystopian Sci-Fi film.
  19. We also share the luxury of having our own dedicated sound & lights guy. Daryl
  20. Would you be interested in trades after this long time?
  21. Ooh I see. Might wanna check Sandberg or the Sire V6 and P6 then. As far as I know they are the lightest even on 4s.
  22. I'm neved sure how real any of these influencer on influencer spats are. Reminds me of the Twitter 'beefs' of around a decade ago where celebs would insult each other on social media with the result of all parties getting some free publicity from the inevitable ensuing media attention. I'm not suggesting it's that cynical in this case but I doubt either Mohini Dey or Danny Sapko is too devasted at the thought of all the potential new content they might generate from their 'conflict'.
