  2. Hi Tim The bass weight is 9.2 lbs very reasonable and well balanced i will Pm you
  3. When our band kicked off a couple of years ago, the premise was that every member ( 5 of us ) had to sing lead vocals on various tracks, mainly because we didnt have a front man. Only 3 members had sung lead before. I wasnt one of then, so i had to get stuck in. Not easy so i found out, and it depended on what bass line i was paying at the time. But it worked out ok cos i kept at it, and had around 5 tracks to sing lead on. Just practice , there's no magic.
  4. Who doesn't like a big shiny knob or two, eh?
  5. That markbass is listed as fretted btw
  6. I’ve got one of these buttons somewhere if you want it? (free obvs)
  7. Strange. Parcel Farce used to state in their T&C's that they dont insure guitars, though they will still accept your parcel, but wont pay out if damaged or lost. Have their excluded items changed to now accept guitars
  8. What kinda Gibson would that be Andy...
  9. Hi Chris, Seems I don’t automatically get a notification when someone replies! I’ve PM’d you the number. Terry
  10. How about a thread from 2013 to cheer you up?
  11. Excellent cabs these are.
  12. My computer feels dirty now.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rumble_(company) To give credit where it's due, the bass playing is the best thing about that video.
  13. Does anyone use thing like Y splitters to separate the bands connections and the connections to front of house? Splitters seem sold out everywhere?
  14. Recently fitted a new pair of Callaghan nickel-plated brass flat-top knobs to my Precision bitzer. They’re the late-’50s heavy knurled style — machined (not cast or moulded), so they have a nice solid feel and noticeably more weight than standard ones. There were £40 for the pair from Charlie Chandler’s Guitar Experience, but totally worth it — they really add a touch of class to the rebuild. This bass started out as a fretless a little over twenty years ago, but I’ve remade it with a new Fender fretted neck and an EMG GZR pickup.
  15. Or mentioning you have a hooker to get rid of...
  16. The Harley Benton B450fl produces a nice tone and is lightweight. It's unlined if that bothers you, but IMO they are preferable and easier to play than lined fretless because the side dots on an unlined are in the 'correct' position(ie where the frets are) whereas on a lined they are the same as fretted bass, which make playing more challenging as the lines are often very faint whereas side dots are brighter. I think it also teaches better habits with fretless too.
  17. Those are carbon strips that run though the neck to the pickups. Check out the Vigier 10/90 system. Fantastic bass ❤️
  18. Insanely great looking woods ! are the strings perfect lined with the 2 dark ebony lines (look like ebony?) or is it how the shots was taken or is it just my OCD. fliping
  19. Selling my GRBASS 410+ wooden cab with GRBASS cover. This is the plus so is 1200w 4ohms not the 600w standard. I paired this with my Hartke LH1000 amp and sounded immense. That amp is also for sale and I will do a deal if you want both. GRBASS boast that this is the lightest wooden cab in the world. Some specs: 49.6lbs - 22.5kg 1200w RMS (AES Standard) 4ohms 4 x 10" custom Jensen/Sica woofer 3 position tweeter switch W24,01 x D16,73 x H27,95 inch Overall, it is in good condition with some marks on the name plate on the front. The covering is good(see photos) Collection from Fleet, Hampshire and you can see it in full flow if I still haven’t sold the amp first.
  20. I’ll take option c
  21. Today
  22. That’s a great weight for a late 70s Precision.
  23. @warwickhunt your parcel didn't go to Suffork did it?
  24. 232 is less than 245. If you add 1cm to each dimension it is still less than 245. Ombudsman time.
  25. Had the same thing with ParcelForce earlier this month, claiming the parcel was larger than it actually was, saying I incurred a £45 additional charge. Unfortunately for them the delivery driver took a photo of the delivery, which showed their claims were incorrect. Took almost 3 weeks to sort, saying the error was with the courier. Yes, themselves!
