  1. Past hour
  2. ….and of course if you installed a pair of Dimarzio model Ps in there the adjustable pole pieces would have it covered anyway 👍
  3. My solution for that - a wristband, pulled up to where the forearm meets the body. I play basses with zero forearm contouring, even binding without issue if I do this.
  4. Marvellous!
  5. I did buy that but returned it due to the lack of a forearm contour. It sounded great and the colour looked amazing. Was really sorry to part with it but I knew from previous experience, it would be uncomfortable for me to play.
  6. Here? Basschat? I am losing my grip. I thought I had been through the adverts!! Off to look now!
  7. Jack has some VERY interesting basses but most are too esoteric and/or expensive, so sadly this is still here. A Precision with rosewood board would grab my attention, as would cash 🤔
  8. Aha still a month! But I will be coming through Manchester. Kind offer! You could demonstrate as my bass knowledge far outweighs my proficiency! Is it a B2A?
  9. There's an Ibanez Axstar and a Yahaya Motion here for sale that would fit your specs. Iba even has a 34" scale. Check them first. I have a partsbass with a Status neck. Because the neck is so stable, I detach it and pack it with the body to hand luggage. No one has asked about the neck coming out from the bag.
  10. Runnymede Live, Victory Park, Addelstone. It only took 2 years but Electrik Soup finally got around to doing a gig! The phrase 'herding cats' was invented for this band 😆 Outdoor gig today, fortunately the weather was good. We were the first band on at 12:45pm. Set consisting of mainly 90's indie and Britpop (hence the bucket hat). One of the guitarists forgot to bring the bass amp, so I used a Warwick Gnome belonging to the other guitarist, just as a DI. It sounded really good, with a surprising amount of 'heft'. On stage monitors were plentiful and although we didn't have a sound check the on stage sound was sorted by the third song, and FOH sounded great according to the punters I spoke to. I only took a clip on tuner, which died as I was tuning. All I needed on an out door gig 😖. But Shuker 3 is awfully resilient and tends to stay in tune regardless of environment. So I got away with it. Gear: Shuker 3 > Airbridge wireless > Warwick Gnome (DI) > FOH
  11. Leave the caps alone, age does not mean that there are problems, or that there will be problems. The whole notion of “must recap” is an absurd extrapolation from a little bit of truth.
  12. I like the song but yeah that bass is buried isn't it?
  13. When are you back in the UK, and where will you be based? I'd be happy for you to check out my Hohner if you are anywhere near Warrington / Manchester. David
  14. Rabbit Fighter - T. Rex
  15. Just sold a preamp to Steve. Excellent, painless transaction, great comms, deal with confidence. Naturally this means he receives the Frank Blank Seal of Approval...
  16. I think these are intended to be fitted to the end of the neck, replacing the existing metalwork, so you would need to check neck profile, string spacing and trussrod access. A string clamp that works with the existing metalwork might be an easier option. David

  18. Your daughter could announce that she’s swapping to guitar as the keys player has the bass parts covered. The guitarist will have conniptions because of the competition for volume as will the keys player who now has to learn the left hand parts properly. At the subsequent band meeting, your daughter can graciously agree to stay on bass but ask that the keys player write proper keys parts that don’t occupy the same sonic ground as the bass and kick. Or just sack the keys player
  19. The mini precision and jazz doesn’t take up much space
  20. Keys could be a replacement for a rhythm guitar... But really should only be used for weired far out sounds, or Helicopter noises!
  21. .. just sold some bits and bobs back to Frank. All good as usual and would happily deal with again. Top BCer!
  22. There the full bodied Hohner The Jack if you don't want a cricket bat bass, cheap one here if you're able to collect: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/744174308542887/?ref=search&referral_code=null&referral_story_type=post&tracking=browse_serp%3A5cb0d2fb-bb0e-4e47-bece-69066429a03c Also grab one of these if you are going the licensed Steinberger route, assume they'll fit but check first:
  23. It is a workable solution, and the bass can be used in normal situations. Things like the Yamaha silent bass, or the traveller bass https://www.bandtmusic.co.uk/guitars/bass-guitars/travel-basses/traveler-guitar-ultra-light-bass-maple.html are sufficiently odd looking that they might detract from your performance.
