Check out a Markbass 112 combo. They are small, light and you can get a good sound out of them. Add a 112 extension cab if you feel the need when the band gets going.

I once took a banjo to a local luthier shortly before he died, and he snapped it in half and burnt the pieces. God, I miss him. -

Well, just exchanged the pickups and electronics, what a difference ! No noise, crip sounds and a singing fretless bass. Already ordered halfwound strings now, because sliding finger noise is now a bit too loud. it looks like the pickups were exchanged by someone before my brother bought it. The little springs for the screws were not mounted, they were sticking all four to the bottom in the middle, on both pickups. See picture. And one screw hole in the wood had an extra hole to the side of it, as if someone didn’t find the original hole. The pickups themselves have no logo or name on them. I left the original little amp block inside as it’s glued firmly, was afraid of damaging something. Compliments to Warwick for the support, compatibilty of new parts, components and what more !

What's the going rate for Stingrays nowadays?
peteb replied to Supernaut's topic in General Discussion
I have an issue with Stingrays, in that I like them but rarely gig them. I've moved several of them on, as I'm not really using them, only to go out and buy another! I've had (in total) three 4 strings, two 5 strings, as well as a US Sterling 4 string and sold them all, apart from the current red 91 with a rosewood board! It's got to the point that when I mentioned that I've been offered quite a decent amount for the red 91, my wife told me not to sell it because I would only end up buying another one! -
Looks like a blast from the past mic preamp.

The hot chocolate one? The luthier that did that is based a short walk from me in Sutton, South London. I took a banjo to him once for some work, but if any of my basses need anything done I'll only them to the Gallery in Camden. -

Bought new, kept it in pedalboard since forever. Actually I’m not even removing it until it sells don’t have the original box though (I moved between places since buying). It has 3M Dual Lock Velcro underneath, and naturally is in full working order. Wasn’t stomped much - I was usually engaging it through paired DMC Micro. And on rare occasions it was - it has the button cap! Highly recommended. I can post through Royal Mail Tracking24 for 5 quid or we can arrange local pickup in London

Due to an impending house move I'm thinning the herd. Up for sale is my Musicman Stringray Special 5H. Recently professionally set up with DR Sunbeams, classic natural look, excellent condition (there's one small ding on the back side - see pictures), super lightweight and easy on the shoulder for gigging. Comes with a hardcase which is slightly marked but structurally completely sound. Looking for £1850 collected from Stone (Staffordshire) or alternatively I do have a box to ship if you are willing to arrange a courier/insurance.

Quick update on this one Paulownia body is finally flat, sealed and mostly behaving after the usual prime → sand → spot fill → repeat cycle. Shellac down, primer back on, and it’ll get a couple more coats of high-build to properly finish it off. Paired with a MIM neck and then it’s onto Dakota Red nitro, which means it’ll look finished long before it actually is. As ever, slow progress — but very close to colour now. MGCS — Made to play. Built to last. -
