  1. Past hour
  2. I assume it's a grounding issue? My bass (Sire P8) plays lovely and clean in my house, but at rehearsal last night in the gitard's house it was buzzing like mad. The room we were in use dimmer lights, so I believe that can have something to do with it?
  3. @zbd1960 It was good to see you. Sorry about the anxiety, not sure what we could do to help, but please let us know it we can do anything. The picture makes the villahe hall look like some medieval long hall which is nice. Thanks Rob
  4. Can anyone help ID these Fralin pups? Or is there just one set they do?

  5. Apologies my plans have changed regarding the ST This is in relation to a LFSYS Monaco cab
  6. I wouldn’t stick them on to existing either beside or replace them with taller feet I think
  7. The handle on top of a ST is at the back, so there's plenty of room for the amp on top in front of the handle. With my Tecamp Puma 900 I have to use some sticky matt between the amp and cab otherwise the amp tends to wander. Rob
  8. On the question of exploitation, would you expect to be recieving a royalty for work you did 30 years ago? The royalty model is truly broken, the big money is off touring and merchandising. I've haemorrhaged thousands on music where 80% of the tracks are just filler and would wager I'm not alone.
  9. Sorry I didn't stay for very long - it doesn't happen often, but I had an anxiety attack... Never had them as a youngster, but I get them occasionally.
  10. BC1 Bass Compressor is on hold. BP1 Compact preamp is still available.
  11. Just bought an Ignition bass from Patrick. First class guy to deal with and the bass and its bits n bobs were really expertly packed. Highly recommended, many thanks again sir. Tom.
  12. Wish I could afford this, best bargain I've seen in a long time on here.
  13. I know for a fact that back in the day, Pete and Wal took great pride in the fact that their basses were in the hands of "ordinary" working musicians and that they were out there doing pub gigs ect with the basses they had made. I expect they would be a bit bemused by their basses becoming too valuable to gig for some players. A big part of that company was that they were happy to service the basses, whether you bought them new or used. There was no need to treat a Wal bass with kid gloves. And they weren't anywhere near as expensive as nowadays anyway.
  14. Thank you @MichaelDean, good tip. I think it's sorted now, cheers 🙂
  15. I don’t have many principles but I just feel it’s exploitation. I buy new stuff from bands I know and follow up new music recommendations from friends (Whatsapp groups) and websites. And yes, you’re right - probably 2/3 of what I listen to is at least 30 years old…
  16. I stream everything these days. Like it or not analogue id dead, broadcast TV and radio are in the old folks home along with physical currency. Everyone is entitled to take a stand but it’s not going to make any difference and you are missing out on a whole lot of benefits. I try to compensate by getting to hear new artists before they get big and going to their gigs and buying their merchandise. I would never have heard of most of these guys otherwise.
  17. In outstanding condition for 26 years old. A couple of scratches but to be expected and are shown in detail in the photos. Plays beautifully with low action. I thought I'd keep her forever but a broken roof forces sale 😔. Amazing butter like maple neck and absolutely no issues at all. Non original semi hard case, hence price. Also comes with clear pickguard. No trades please. Thanks 🙏
  18. Same here apart from the squires and the US ones are definitely the best imo

  20. I've never seen tribute band but I'd least expect to see the exact instruments e.g. Hofner violin bass for a Beatles, left handed Strat for Hendrix etc. If it's a tribute to bands with a strong visual image then I'd expect to see very near lookalikes as with Bjorn Again. Where the original bands aren't visual then looking alike them isn't important so long as the sound, particularly the vocals are spot on. I mean I wouldn't expect a Genesis (the trio version) act to be fronted by a balding midget.
  21. Today
  22. I mean, each to their own - and don't quantify your answer here on the basis of format wars - but the question for me is how do you go about discovering anything new or do you just rest on your laurels and feel warm and fuzzy about the music you may already own?
