  1. Past hour
  2. Hi I'm looking for a double bass - a hybrid ideally - anyone got one for sale?
  3. Just seen Olivia Rodrigo do a song called Brutal, which sounded a lot like Pump It Up by Elvis Costello, so did a google and turns out he was more than happy with it and said no legal action - fair play Elvis!
  4. Now Glastonbury is over, have some more music and get over to the Basschat Composition Challenge for June and vote for some mighty fine tunes 👍
  5. I enjoyed what I saw of Rod Stewarts set, and it looked like he and his band did too. Also thought Ronnie Wood seemed to be having more fun than he does with the Stones.
  6. My thoughts on Rod Stewart’s Glastonbury set. For me, it started badly, it tailed off a little in the middle, and the less said about the end, the better. But, apart from that, excellent.
  7. She's So Poplar - Frank Stallone
  8. Brilliantly bringing 2 different audiences together at the same time
  9. Drops of Juniper - Train
  10. And it worked 👍
  11. Didn’t see Smith coming, was expecting Sheeran 😁
  12. From what I’ve seen she certainly is. Didn’t know anything by her - or who she is tbh - but she is good.
  13. Today
  14. Isn’t she just , fair play
  15. Stevie Wonder in Cardiff on 9th July then Neil Young with Cat Stevens at Hyde Park on 11th, then Smashing Pumpkins with my 15yo daughter in London on 10th August. Took her to watch Guns and Roses at Villa Park last week as well which she really enjoyed, and I also saw Mike Watt with MSSV a couple of weeks ago in Bristol. Pipe that live music right into my veins 😂
  16. My 6-year old granddaughter went to see her in Hyde Park on Friday. Hope she (Olivia Rodrigo) kept her potty mouth to herself 😊 That aside, she's very good
  17. Fair play, Olivia Rodrigo is owning it.
  18. They are all crap, really, because of the design as it's just a disguised barrel jack. I'm using these barrel jacks with great longevity for many years: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alnicov-Stereo-Copper-Guitar-Cylinder/dp/B08L69K6QH/
  19. The Prodigy. Return of the voodoo people. Rave on.
  20. If more people phoned experts the world would be a safer place! The wiring in our house (a former HMO) was declared incredibly dangerous by my friend (an electrician, obvs). We had the whole place redone just so we can sleep soundly at night. I’m not an expert in anything, but there are some things I’d never take a risk with. We now take a plug tester to all our gigs, too, after the lead singer got a shock once.
  21. Could be worse; mine's like a welder's bench. It's so bad I use a Precision to make me look good.
  22. Yes, they're great aren't they. The jazz club in the pic held about 180 and I didn't need to line out to the PA. It was enough. Mind you, we weren't doing any Megadeath covers😆
  23. Can Yew Dig It - The Mockturtles
  24. She is an amazing bassist for sure, but this new band is really meh, too much (bad) synths in it, sometimes the sax is aldo doing his thing with a sax thingy synth and eventually it becomes a boring gig... She was more entertaining with the previous band and album. I've been following her since almost the beginning and have all the records, but this last band iteration is too Polish for my liking (synths everywhere, hey we are not in the 80's anymore).
  25. Privet Dancer - Tina Turnip
  26. That's a nice looking bass. Dave
  27. We’ve had a wee festival locally, over the weekend. One of the rules was no flags, no banners. The other thing that grinds my gears at these big events is folk who feel the need to be on someone else’s shoulders; it’s just inconsiderate for people behind.
