Oh I do like the King Billy.

Same here Rich! There was a kind of carnival atmosphere on Saturday, both inside the pub and out in the street. They're a pretty knowledgeable lot too when it comes to music - no surprise there I guess. Amusing to see a couple of Bobbies on the beat chatting amiably with a small crowd sat on the war-memorial steps in front of the pub. The crowd had been smoking dope 5 minutes earlier and the motionless air was still loaded with the unmistakable aroma. The banter finished, the police strolled off, the smokers lit up again, and everything was back to normal.

You’ve just described my ideal gig. Especially the bit about in bed by 10:00.

Oh yes I am in my mid 50s with 2 sleep-averse kids…

I hope the rest of your weekend is just as agreeable

Just played a wedding in a tent in a field. I too am in bed before midnight which is awesome.

However. It's not my bed. It's a 10 quid Air BnB and it took me 6 1/2 hours to get here.

So I most definitely win in one way but my goodness the M5 and M6 route north is not the easy drive it once was.

Just back from playing at The Old Star in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire.

It’s a pub that consistently supports live music, has a proper stage and friendly, obliging staff. But……bands play outside in a courtyard area. By the end of the second set tonight it definitely felt chilly. Time to get the hand warmers out again.

Just got in from a gig at The Dublin Castle in Camden. Was fortunate enough to find parking right outside, so all good there. 4 bands on so a bit of gear sharing, decent sized crowd who appreciated all the bands. Load out not too bad considering it was 11:30 in a packed pub. Overall it was the first gig I’ve really relaxed into in this band - which is only the fifth one I’ve done, and with a different set list at each - just felt more at ease, which was nice.

Ok, 2nd gig of the weekend.

Holy Hill Arts & Crafts Festival

4 Piece Acoustic

1. Hours were great 2:00-300

2. The provided sound was gear from the 70s which sounded awful.

3. Pay was respectable

4. We sounded awful

Guys, it was not a good gig.

Did you get bottled off stage? Yes = not a good gig, no = a good gig.

If the crowd enjoyed themselves and you got paid, it's always a good gig. We're always too quick to find fault with what we do, life's too short to focus on the negatives.

Gig at Sharnbrook Mill Theatre Bedfordshire. Fab venue, sound & nearly full.

HELP...We had an issue...any ideas???????????????

Our guitarist used a 70's strat & Tele the pickups, picked up a pulsing 4Khz signal, sounding like a cricket! We isolated mains, guitar, no hearing loop, or modem, phones, lights, wireless for iPad, no backline or monitors etc. I tried a passive p/u bass, same issue.

Anybody had this experience
