upside downer Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I'm going to see Morrissey perform tonight in Nuneaton, just popping into Wetherspoons for a bite to eat first. 2 Quote
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago ‘It’s rubbish!’ Is something many of us have said when we were kids etc . As we get older and progressively wiser, ‘it’s rubbish ‘ then manifests into ‘I hate it !’,but if you take the time to find out more about the artist/ comedian / tv show etc then you can be more justified in giving reasons why you dislike or absolutely hate something . At least you have a reason to have a sensible discussion with someone rather than be seen to be ignorant . It’s easy to pick on bands such as Coldplay and nickleback etc as they have been hugely successful and been on ou screens a lot initially . Anyway fwiw , ‘I hate ‘ U2 and Bono in particular! No, sorry Just Bono as after paying a huge amount to see them on the vertigo tour after a few songs he turned the gig into a give me money for the starving charity event ! Why didn’t someone assassinate him there and then ?? But he is talented. Van Morrison , the father jack of music ! Hugely talented but I can’t stand his music . ‘It’s rubbish !’ The Fall ! I saw some long programme about them on channel 4 I think it was many moons ago . Yes, that was rubbish ! Over an hour of my life wasted. Mark E smith . Come across as a stumbling aggressive drunk with issues. ‘It’s rubbish and how did they become famous ?’…Mrs. Browns Boys obviously. James Corden , a vacuous annoying tub of lard ! Miranda Hart ! Russell Brand 🤮 Keith lemon 🤮 ‘It’s rubbish and I hate this song ‘ White Rabbit ! Pass me the razor blades , I’m so depressed ! Imagine John Lennon ! Thankfully he can’t write anything as bad as that anymore. As for Wetherspoon the coffee is okay . The ducks around here prefer to steal bags of crisps from Greggs , which may explain something 🦆 Quote
LawrenceH Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I strongly agree with the general sentiment of this thread, and have always had a sense that I should try harder to 'get' stuff I don't like. But I also think there is some stuff that after careful consideration in the spirit of open-minded self-improvement, truly, genuinely, objectively is just utter toss. Quote

Not everything though, some of it's just rubbish. Quote
