I recently brought a trb5 mk1 off the very nice joe geezer on here( though he was selling it on eBay. The thing is absolutely  amazing for the money I paid, and  all I can say is the legendary reputation is totally justified. It’s just under 34”scale and the B string note definition has blown me away.😊.very lightweight aswell x

i bought a trb1p from wapping back in the early 80s and stupidly sold it - build quality next to none and tone to match a ken smith

This is something you don't see that often:

IMG_20250830_200022.thumb.jpg.ce0d96d562b466834b24ed3ed987f43a.jpg

A BassLab Custom DN VII, so a double neck fretted and fretless, 7 strings for each neck and weighing 7.7 kilos, which is not that heavy for such a monster.

For sale at a very decent price (now) on Reverb (located in Germany, for those interested).

That is absolutely magnificent. Were I feeling silly I'd probably buy that, I mean where else are you ever going to find one? I adore my L-Bow. Thankfully I know restraint these days but still...

It's a one for the EU. The size of the case will result in a massive import cost, I would expect, and that's added into the taxable fee as it comes into the UK. Another downside of the bungled Brexit. I think mine was about £2200 in total with fees.

Yeah…

I’ve got my 2 lookalikes…they’ll do for me.

I did have an RBV about 10 years ago - was ace.

You tempted to add all 3 modes on the pickups and the push pull tone cap on the volume like the real one?

Nah. I’ve found the setting I like and can’t be bothered changing about. Creatures of habit.

I've had my Italia short scale bass for eight years.  It took some finding but I eventually tracked one down at Richard's Guitars in Stratford-upon-Avon.  Since then they have not been advertised anywhere.  I did see a used one on the Bass Direct site last year costing just shy of £1000 - about £350 more than I paid new!  I'm not sure if they are still being made or imported.  I recently had the bass set up by Overwater (I live a ten minute walk from their studios in Carlisle) and it plays a treat - even in my hands!

Just seen one for sale on Bass Direct site!
