I've always wanted a little door in the back of my cab to keep my house-keys. Alex from Bareface if you are tuned in...please note! I remember around 25 years ago part of the midas rep's sales pitch for the easy tilt console stand mentioned the presence of discrete compartments - Im not sure the keys he had in mind were the household kind though.............. 1 Quote

Maude Posted September 11 Posted September 11 Is this a good time to admit I've never seen 'This Is Spinal Tap'? 😬 1 1 Quote

wolfninefingers Posted September 12 Posted September 12 As good as the first Tap film was, BBC comedy series Brian Pern I think is the pinnacle of music comedy. Quote
MichaelDean Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I went to see it tonight, and I wasn't disappointed. Short but sweet and lots of big laughs. I feel like they edited it quite ruthlessly. I want to watch it again! 3 Quote
Norris Posted September 13 Posted September 13 I will be watching it, probably next week. I just hope I'm not too disappointed, but I'm prepared to be delighted. Quote
NickA Posted September 14 Posted September 14 It's good, it's fun, it's worth a punt. The McCartney cameo is odd, but doesn't spoil it. More constant smiles than big quotable jokes, but came out happier than when I went in. Count the number of Derek Small's ( identical ) basses. And the new drummer is great. 3 1 Quote

Norris Posted September 15 Posted September 15 (edited) OMG! My drummer has never seen the first one! I'm going to have to lie down in a darkened room until I come to terms with that revelation Edit: I've offered him the loan of my special edition BluRay Edited September 15 by Norris 1 Quote
Hobbayne Posted September 15 Posted September 15 It suddenly dawned on me that 2 members of the group appeared in the Breaking Bad spinoff 'Better Call Saul,.. Ed Bagley Jr and Michael McKean. Quote

Apparently it was Spinal Tap and Shania Twain filming a performance, I guess this is promotion for ST2 but I've not seen anything online yet. With all the old rock bands out there touring these days, the Stones, Def Leopard and Metallica I'm sure the film will lampoon some of that geriatric rock scene. Excuse me but I’m guessing a major percentage of basschatters including me are bordering on geriatric. No need to be famous. 2 Quote
Piers_Williamson Posted Wednesday at 13:31 Posted Wednesday at 13:31 Well, anyone with a pedal-board should go and see it and/or cheese loving guitarists. Not as good as the first one, but our singer was crying with laughter through most of it. Great band outing..... Quote

ezbass Posted Wednesday at 13:58 Posted Wednesday at 13:58 I have a friend who went to see it, who loved the original and this is what he had to say about it, “Just seen Spinal Tap 2. I laughed about 10 times but all in the last 10 mins. Elton John v good. I had to see it but set the bar low and you will be ok!!” pretty much echoes what Mark Kermode said, except for EJ. Quote
Norris Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I was pleasantly surprised. I chuckled quite a lot. If you were in two minds but haven't gone yet don't hang about. Our local Vue cinema are showing it for the last time tonight. We went to a local independent cinema to watch - much nicer place, sound wasn't deafening and they showed it at a much more sociable time. Anyway it might not be long on the big screen going by the very small audience 1 Quote
