Well I'll give it the benefit of the doubt.  I've always wanted a little door in the back of my cab to keep my house-keys.  Alex from Bareface if you are tuned in...please note!

I remember around 25 years ago part of the midas rep's sales pitch for the easy tilt console stand mentioned the presence of discrete compartments - Im not sure the keys he had in mind were the household kind though..............

Well I'm another who wants to give it the benefit of the doubt. I'm quite looking forward to it but with realistic expectations.

This how I approached the last Tool album after hearing the first single.

Is this a good time to admit I've never seen 'This Is Spinal Tap'? 😬

There’s never a good time to admit that!!

It's good, it's fun, it's worth a punt.  The McCartney cameo is odd, but doesn't spoil it.  More constant smiles than big quotable jokes, but came out happier than when I went in.  Count the number of Derek Small's ( identical ) basses. And the new drummer is great.

You must see it!

I know. Late 80s to late 90s TV and film largely passed me by as that was my serious drinking period. No time for frivolities like TV. 😁

OMG! My drummer has never seen the first one! I'm going to have to lie down in a darkened room until I come to terms with that revelation

Edit: I've offered him the loan of my special edition BluRay

It suddenly dawned on me that 2 members of the group appeared in the Breaking Bad spinoff 'Better Call Saul,.. Ed Bagley Jr and Michael McKean.

What, one, and one only?

No spoilers.... But Lars Ulrich and several others turned down the opportunity.

Late August a stage was seen being set up at Stonehenge and there was much speculation as to who it was for. Apparently it was Spinal Tap and Shania Twain filming a performance, I guess this is promotion for ST2 but I've not seen anything online yet.

With all the old rock bands out there touring these days, the Stones, Def Leopard and Metallica I'm sure the film will lampoon some of that geriatric rock scene.

Excuse me but I’m guessing a major percentage of basschatters including me are bordering on geriatric. No need to be famous.

Well, anyone with a pedal-board should go and see it and/or cheese loving guitarists.  Not as good as the first one, but our singer was crying with laughter through most of it.  Great band outing.....

I have a friend who went to see it, who loved the original and this is what he had to say about it, “Just seen Spinal Tap 2. I laughed about 10 times but all in the last 10 mins. Elton John v good. I had to see it but set the bar low and you will be ok!!” pretty much echoes what Mark Kermode said, except for EJ.
