Alexandra Burke's awful, awful version of "Hallelujah" which completely ripped the soul out of it. Simon Cowell is partly to blame for this utter travesty.

The irony of the line "but you don't care much for music...' in this version!!

While driving around the Welsh countryside this summer, I shoved an “80’s” playlist on Spotify. The teenagers were listening to their own songs on headphones (depressing really, but I enjoyed the peace)…

ABC - High and Dry. Yes, the Radiohead Song.

oh wow.

Just had a listen and it sounds suspiciously like something from a long time ago...Cant think off hand what tho... So maybe BD was covering the original and not her "cover".

Sorry, should have used an irony emoji. It is a Dylan original.

It gets a bit complicated with "All the young dudes" because David Bowie wrote it, Mott the Hoople had a hit with it, Bruce Dickinson got into the top 30 with his cover which was very close to the original, and Bowie recorded it after Mott did but his version is inferior (not vastly though) to the other two.

Metallica- whisky in the jar

Judas priest - Johnny b Goode

Tangerine dream - House of the rising sun/ purple haze

megadeth - anarchy in the uk

Motley crue- halter skelter

Mind you, "Whisky in the Jar" was a a traditional song long before Thin Lizzy covered it.

tbh I don't like any version of this song but anyway

Or to be precise nuck-nuck-nuckin' on heaven's daw-aw-whoaw. A rare case of where he Dylan original is 100 x better than a specific cover.

+ 1 for Judas Priest's risible Johnny B Goode and I'll add their execrable 'Green Manalishi'

+ 1 for Metallica's Whisky in the jar

No mention yet of Jagger and Bowie's atrocious Dancing in the Street nor of the woeful Aerosmith take on Come Together. Then again Aerosmith have been terminally shyt3 so perhaps they didn't know any better.

No, it's plain nasty. Go back and listen to the original for as many times as it takes to cure you 😉

I’ve just listened to it…it’s heavy handed, a bit overproduced…(the Disturbed Version)

sounds like it was from a film soundtrack?
