There are a surprisingĀ number of players who do this.

I think theĀ theory used to beĀ that left-handedĀ players could only get hold of right-handed bassesĀ when they started playing, so therefore just spun bassesĀ around and played themĀ left-handed ā€˜upside downā€™.

Or of course he just felt that he wasnā€™t being challenged enough with the more orthodox string arrangement.Ā šŸ˜

This happens when you are left handed and you just grab a right handed bass and learn how to play it like that.

Stan Sargeant with Keb Mo plays like this and Albert King used to. It's no handicap, you just play the same stuff, but differently.
