Maple or Rosewood fret board?

I do wish P bass were rear routed / control cavity... the body shape just says function

would look so simple and elegant with just the split coil and 2 knobs.. maybe an edge jack or stratocaster jack plate... get to see more wood... and a neck with no fingerborad inlays...

wish i had the skills to make one, or the money to have one made...

You’re almost describing a Yamaha bb1200

(except they don’t sound like a p bass)

I agonized over that question for some time, but the neckmis on the way and the fretboard  is...

Rosewood.

Never ending story...

Ready ?

Ok, I warned you, here are some of the basses I've owned over the years (lots are missing). As you can see, I like wood ! 😎

Well done, the first step is admitting you have a problem :D

I have no idea what half of those are, but appreciate the fact they were in alphabetical order by maker.

I can name each of them if you want. They are in total alphabetic and chronologic order too. I'm a bit of a maniac when it gets to classification.

why not?! :D maybe start your own thread?

Great thread. Nothing against them, but can’t see myself ever acquiring a painted bass again - just not aesthetically pleasing enough for me these days. Here’s mine - all current crop (BTB now added).

It was that blue Ibby of yours that finally pushed me over the edge to buy my four string version! As mentioned elsewhere, yours has one of the nicest tops seen on one of those - can’t believe you’re selling it!

That green one (a Shuker?) - that’s definitely a ‘forever’ bass ain’t it - bloody gorgeous!!

If it doesn't sell I am not going to be too unhappy :D

TBH, I am just justifying the Shuker, the more the credit card gets paid off, the less justification I need. Also having already sold two other basses, if another couple of cheap ones go, I will probably keep it.

Yeh, the Shuker Uberhorn. Seriously in love with that thing, just walk past it and think wow, but as it is, it plays so well too.
