knicknack
@EBS_freak I think that's my logic... for me it's really important to be as easy to handle as possible at a gig and require as little as possible form the engineer, but I'd always rather have a general/Sub mix in the board than just bass, makes a huge difference. At the moment I run my IEM mix through the Wodjer. A built in rack that is rigged up to send my one mix on to the floor with no faff and in a small package is an absolute ideal solution! With the Eich board I was using I powered it with my Aguilar and may as well have just brought an amp and cab instead... That said a pedalboard sized unit is a very cool idea too! LukeFRC
While I have no interest in this rather cool product if I were designing a unit to power if I would try and get it small enough to sit on or next to a pedal board, and seeing as it’s going to need to have some kinda power supply if the box doubled up as a power supply for pedals you get s lot of wins then. Indeed that would be quite funky - but we are struggling with real estate in the housing as it is - and remember, it's got to have an amp in it too! I don't think that it cab be all things to all men. And doesn't power generally live under the pedal board? Additionally, if you are a rack user, you are paying for functionality that you are never going to use...?

It's going to be playing with IEM systems so it may as well be compatible! If you're running a Sennheiser unit for instance, it should be possible to run one of it's 'thrus' into the amp! All self contained then. I had a Eureka moment last night and things need to be a little more flexible... because you can't guarantee that everybody is going to halve a loop through a wireless system... UE5s good - but would push for the UE6s just for the added headroom (even if you prefer the sound of the UE5s in isolation). Live, you'll appreciate it! Live, you'll appreciate it! I'm not sure of the model, but I did try a model that had 4 or less drivers in it at CIEC. There's no doubt they had a lovely top end and clarity, but I leant towards the low end support of a different brand. I eventually went for an 8 driver ear piece to cover my needs. Osiris
Someone mentioned replacement tips for the ZS10's a page or 2 back, I ordered some of these and can confirm that they fit the ZS10's perfectly, although they do fit deeper into your ear canal than the stock tips so they feel a little odd at first!. Unfortunately they do not fit my Shure SE215's, the bore in the tip is too big to fit over the narrow sticky outy bit of the Shures. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-Sport-Ear-Gels-Earbuds-Tips-for-Various-Devices-Flange-Ear-Buds/282177969644?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=581177088266&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649
mrtcat
A drummer friend of mine is going to order some new iems with Lugs. He's based in Northampton and is looking for a place to get his impressions done. Any recommendations as to where he can get them done properly? foxyFuze
Specsavers often have audiologists, £25 quid for impressions.
intime-nick
Don’t use Boots for impressions - I was stung for a load of money for mine and they were rubbish. They didn’t know how to do an open-mouth impression (neither did I at the time to be fair - I do now). Go to a professional audiologist who specialise / have experience with taking impressions for IEMs not just hearing aids or earplugs. Knowing what I know now, I’d have gone straight to see Paul at the Custom IEM Co. to get my impressions done (LUGS are great btw - I have a set of their custom quads as well as my UE6s) Edited February 26, 2019 by intime-nick 1
knicknack
Same @intime-nick... I went for Specsavers for my first, and it took 4 attempts before the were accepted by 64 Audio! Now I'm onto a new set done by and absolute professional and I realise how bad the old ones were!

Muppet
I went to see Paul last week for some impressions. Unfortunately he couldn't do them as I had a build up of ear wax that would have prevented a good impression being made and he was focused on ensuring he could get the best possible mould. It ended up as an aborted initial visit, a reschedule and a trip to an ear clinic. I'm not complaining at all as i would much rather it happen that way around but worth noting for anyone getting impressions made.
