3. Hi all, I am leaving my current band due to my desire to keep to my self-imposed restriction to only play to a couple of gigs per month (I have other none music related interests outside the band, work commitments and also wish to spend more time with family etc). The band want to get out more often than this so we have reached a mutual agreement that I should step aside so that I can find a band that wishes to play as often as I want whilst leaving them free to up their gigging schedule. As such, The Ascent are looking for a new bass player. They have an advert on ‘Join my Band’ http://www.joinmyban...er-t737322.html and ‘North West Bands’ http://nwb.co/theascent2013 but I thought it would be a good idea to post something on here for them. They are located in the Greater Manchester area and play indie/rock covers. They are a 6 piece outfit (drums, bass, vox, 2 guitars, keys) and are looking to gig around 4-5 times per month. They are all excellent musicians and top people with quality gear and they have their own PA & lights. They are looking for someone with good ability, own transport and good gear to join them. Being able to add backing vocals would be an advantage. You can PM me for further details or respond directly to the Join my band/North West Bands advert. This is a great opportunity for someone wishing to join well-established, self-contained, quality covers bands who want to gig most weekends. This may suit someone on here. Cheers all.
4. I like it here. That is all.
5. Fender have done a crackng job on that - looks great. Congrats.
6. We have 2 sets of the ADJ dotz par bars and they are brilliant. You get what you pay for and they are around £600 for the pair inc quality stands and heavy duty foot controllers. Light spread is good and high intensity. They have a lens that reduces the beam angle that is removable. These look great with a smoke machine or a hazer. Effect lighting and stage wash in one. Yes, more expensive than most but great quality and they are fit for purpose. Look like they will last forever. You also get cases for the lights and stands. Highly recommend. Hope this helps.
7. These are SO versatile. Bought one last year and sold all my other basses (except my EBMM 25th Anniversay - which is my 'Sunday best' bass) as this does it all. This is a bargain and the right colour scheme too. I prefer this to my natural/rosewood example. GLWTS.
8.
Wonder if PMT Manchester are getting them in????
I seem to recall someone on here works at PMT Manchester? Maybe he could enlighten us. Edit: Forget that - I was thinking of Dawsons in Manchester. Maybe they're getting one in?

11. Please do not post any more pics of this bass. It is not helping. Thank you!
12. This used to be mine. The best passive Jazz I have ever played. The build quality on this one is top notch and it has a really great finish and tone. The custom shop pickups sound just right and there is plenty of variation in the volume/tone controls. High mass bridge too. It also has the skb case that was discontinued shortly after this was made (price cutting exercise?). Any buyer will be well pleased with this. I only sold it to raise funds for an active bass that I was gassing over at the time. If I had the funds available I wouldn't hesitate in buying this back myself. Freddie75 is also a great guy to deal with. GLWTS.
13.
Tele Bass or Guitar...?
Wha.....? Fender do a telecaster gu***r as well?
14. Bought by Fender I think as were Genz Benz.
15. Lovely looking bass. Are the pups closer together than the later Stingray 5 HH?
16. My IEM setup comprises of a pre-used Sennheiser EW300 G2 (£300 off ebay – in great condition) and 1964 QI’s quads (£500 bought from Paul at The Headphone Company – highly recommended). I honestly believe that I could not have gone down the custom iem route of this quality any cheaper. I started off with some Westone UM2’s (universal) to get me going but it wasn’t long before I realised that these were too much of a compromise so I bit the bullet and ordered the quads. I’ve been using this system now for about 6 months and I couldn’t be happier. Comfort and fit is great (you forget that you are wearing them), they don’t fall out and the sound quality is fantastic – plenty of bass on tap whilst all the other frequencies are easily catered for. I sing backing vocals as well as playing bass and the quads offer plenty of definition and clarity. I’m running from 2 aux sends from the desk for the full stereo experience. I don’t think I would have got there without the help of Russ (EBS Freak) and Paul at The Headphone Company). Thanks guys. 17.
Ha, this is on a set list for a new 80s functions band we've got going, although we have a female lead who can pull it off .
Ha. You might want to rephrase that - or maybe not
18. Alright by Supergrass Gravity by Embrace Riders on the Storm by The Doors Fix You by Coldplay This is how it feels by Inspiral Carpets All songs in our repertoire - and now songs that everyone in the band refuse to play (except our keyboard player)
19. What a diverse bunch we are! Strangers in the Night - UFO for me.
20. We're not supposed to comment on price but I think £750 is a very reasonable price for this. Lovely looking bass glwts.
21. Errrrr, thanks guys - started gassing for a Sterling now! Not helpful - not helpful at all. Not interested in LEDs but the White Sterling looks fantastic.
