1. Well, I have received UK powerleads and covers for my PA speakers. One speaker is 'in the destination country' the other is sat in Koln :-) At least things are starting to move.
2. Just received an email reply to my chasing the speakers I ordered on 30th June. The reply states: "Thank you for your email. I am sorry to let you know that due to the recent strike at DHL, a massive backlog was created and lots of parcels have been delayed. However, on Tuesday, the 7th of July, the strike ended and hopefully, you should receive your order by the end of this week."
3.
The problem with one thread is that information becomes very hard to find. I'll raise this with the other guys but maybe a slight re-organise might more sense!
That would be great Charic - thanks for your support.
4.
So what if thousands of rioting migrants are jumping on lorries and setting fire to the tunnel and causing hundred-mile tailbacks and whatnot? Thomann should have anticipated something like this and invested in a fleet of standby delivery Zeppelins. Now I'm going to have to wait anything up to a few days for my pickguard screw. Disgusted.
Exactly! Poor show Thomann!
5. Yep - ordered 2 active PA speakers on 30th June. Still showing as being located in Koln. Interestingly the UK power supply leads and covers they were bundled with arrived today which seems a bit strange. I also suspect issues at Calais. Just being patient at the moment. If it was a bass however I'd be climbing the walls by now with anticipation.
6. I'm trying to push my current band to the next level with a quality PA system, monitoring, lighting etc. My previous band absolutely got it and had great gear and the desire to get the best sound/visuals that we could (taking storage, transportation, set-up times and cost into consideration). My current band are starting to get it now but it's been an uphill struggle. Music for me is about bass playing first and foremost however necessity has meant that I have had to get more involved with PA/Lighting and take the leading role and TBH - I'm really enjoying it. Great sense of achievement when you get compliments on your sound.
7. I've ordered some PA speakers - hope the boxes contain said speakers and haven't been replaced by migrants!
8. One area of music that i'm interested in (as i'm sure many of you are) is PA equipment, live sound set ups etc etc. As a gigging musician it's good to have an understanding of how these things work whatever instrument you play). I think it would be good to have a couple of sub-sections on basschat specifically for PA related stuff. I'm thinking: Gear section - PA discussion (equipment, set ups etc) Market Place - PA equipment for sale I know that PA discussions & PA equipment sales end up in the 'Accessories and Misc' & 'Other musically Related Items for Sale' sections but there is so much other stuff going on in these sections that it can be a little overwhelming Is it just me that would appreciate this or do others feel like it would be of benefit to them?
9.
Will I die?
Eventually yes!
10. Agree with all the comments made re layout and I can understand that the sound and view will be different depending upon where you are stood but just to put some positivity into this I managed to get a great view and the sound was unbelievably good where I was. I thought the Foos put on a great show and for me it was one of the best gigs i've been to (and i've seen a few). The forecast rain held off, I parked up easily (local school on the outskirts) and drove straight off the carpark into little traffic. The gig finished at 10:30 and I was at home in Bolton before 11:30. So a great night for me however I totally get that I was extremely lucky for everything to fall into place.
11. That's my yob bass right there. Envy envy envy......! Congrats.
12. Musicman Reflex/25th Anniversary.
13.
Maybe the poor guy is still trying to summon up the courage to tell his wife that he's bought yet another bass lol.
Sorry - went back to edit for spelling and hit quote instead of edit!

15.
Some bands do that, but some like several of mine never say a word.
Tossers!
16.
Oly White and tort is classic.....
This - definitely this!
17. Is there any advantage to go series rather than parallel or vice versa?
18. Another vote here for the TRB5pii. Also shouldn't have sold it. Damn, damn, damn & bollox.
19.
Put some Fodera 120-40 on it yesterday and they're still settling in. Still getting used to this weight. I'm sure it'll be fine.
Had one for years. Didn't realise weight was an issue until I joined Basschat. Only sold it as I wanted to move back to 4 strings and couldn't afford to keep it and finance a 4 banger. Really regret selling. Fantastic bass. I'm sure you will enjoy for many years. Well done!
20.
I use a piece of that tacky rubber mesh sheet that people use to stop things sliding around on their car dashboards - available quite cheaply from places like Wilkinson's and the Range. You might need to cut a hole for the cab handle.
I also use this. Cost me 79p for a large roll from B&M Bargains. Cut a pice off the roll to size et voila. Light weight, rolls up small to pack away in your gig bag and works a treat. The beauty of this is no permanent mods to either amp or cab are required. I went for green to match the Bergantino logo on my cabs.
21. Well I thought I had everything that I could possibly need.(want) from my bass playing accessories but I've got to get me a pleasureboard!
