There was no difference for me active to passive with the fog

I have one- I use it for 'time is running out'. The squeeze control is the key there. I quite enjoy it, but tbh I only really use a bfd for the limited times I use fuzz

I played the Harris sig a while ago. Initially I wanted to play one as he is pretty much my prime inspiration musically, but very quickly discovered that it is quite simply THE best precision I have ever played (and I have played very many over the years, both new and vintage) If I could free the cash up, I'd have one in a heartbeat!

There's always good crowd in the pub (daws), but not always downstairs unfortunately. The middle ei8ht is a great gig. Good crowd, although not the biggest of stages- our guitarist ended up with his gear on the floor when we played there earlier in the year.

I have a selection of both active and passive basses. Although I do enjoy the sound of the active ones, you will most often see me playing out with a passive instrument. The sound to me sounds more natural and tends to sit better in the mix for me.

First off- Neil Murray- what a player. I really cut my bass teeth on his output with whitesnake, along with similar era maiden. Fool for your loving is one of my all time favourite lines. Just sublime. In terms of which band- that's harder than it seems. Probably either master of puppets Metallica or on land and in the sea era cardiacs I think

There was a Harley Benton red box clone in the classifieds for not a lot recently. Not sure if it's still there. It's a great box, and should suit what you're aiming for Equally the bdi could also work- it has a blend so you could add how much coloration you want. Gak are selling them for around £20 atm

The octabass comes in at just over your budget at £105 here http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/ebs-octabass-1038-p.asp The chorus is quite a lot more As fretmeister mentioned above, secondhand pedals might be the way to go. I have seen octaves going for £65-80. Chorus pedals are almost as individual as drive pedals. Everyone has their favourite. It may be worth grabbing something to start with and using that until the funds are free to achieve the multichorus. The boss chorus pedals are a great place to start- IMO boss do chorus seriously well ( love the ce5 and ceb3)

The mxr bass chorus deluxe has a crossover and also a flanger setting ( both switchable) I use the mxr black label/ analog chorus. It's really lush, and has a not which will either leave the low end untouched or cut it to taste. I have also used the boss ce5 and ceb3 along with the mooer ensemble king (ce3 clone)

You need to try the b9 now mate!

Fantastically. Sounds great. Tbh I prefer it with bass to guitar. I'm going to use it at a show on Saturday and see how it stands up in the mix. It really is worth a play if you get the chance
