1. I might be interested dependant on location
2. IMO they sound great. I use both regularly However I do run a slightly different signal chain to the norm. I run the organ outs to and ab box and through a kill switch to di and pa. in this pic you see it, but now I have changed ab to one of the fender branded mooers, and I've built my own mooer sized latching killswitch rather than using the boss ab with an empty channel. Also, the Dod bass overdrive has been replaced with an ehx bass soul food.
3. As an owner and bass based user of both b and c models, I think this also sounds great like the others However, I can't see myself using it in my contexts. Might be fun to try it, but I suspect it'll go no further than that for me
4. Have you used one then?
5. Works really well in all 3 of my rigs and in a di only rig too. Holds the original tone well, and adds a really nice gritty edge and more if needs be to the sound. On top of that its only a £60 pedal!!!!
6. I apply the DFA button/ knob. It's called this because it does f**k all
7. IMO it's the most consistent album since bnw
8. From what I understand, the nj series were manufactured in Nagoya Japan, rather than a reference to New Jersey. Congrats on lovely buy. Jealous!!!
9. It would be interesting to hear the Mxr m80 and m81 compared in this context
10.
No regrets.
No remorse?
11. Gorgeous! If only...............
12. Surely the environmentally friendly option is to use the paper and card option rather than plastic packaging
13. Another mention for the Bach material. There are a couple of Bach for bass books available on Amazon. Great music and will give you some great transferable ideas
14. Hi guys, I'm looking for a workable step phaser, and aside from the Marshall regenerator, this seems to be the only other easily obtainable contender. The trouble is that I can't seem to find any demos anywhere that use a bass. Do any of you chaps that own one have a demo of the step phase mode with bass? Failing that, could anyone point me in the right direction to find one please? Many thanks peeps
15. Maybe give the ehx glove a try. Can do raspy pretty well
16. I've been using wireless for close to 15 years. I enjoy the freedom it gives and the lack of messy cabling on the floor. Also with some of the venues I've played in and outdoor stages it gives me isolation from dodgy electrics.
17. For low to medium gain, I'm using a bass soul food, which is awesome in the mix, and an ehx glove added to it for lemmy esque drive. Much like yourself I don't do distortion, and it's taken me a good while ( and a while load of cash) to get to these choices
18. I have both pedals. I'm using the b for purple stuff on setting 1 - full and fat iirc My key is sending the wet output to a di and then to pa via a killswitch, as when bypassed the pedal sends clean sound via the wet out despite the dry volume being off. Using the pedal this way defeats any potential issues with low end loss ( not that I've noticed any!) It has transformed the purple covers we do, giving more authenticity and depth to the bands sound.
19. The right person won IMO All three finalists were genuinely deserving of those slots. And Helen Sanderson is definitely going on 'the list' 😉
20.
Just ordered one of these from GAK as I needed a distortion pedal for when my band covers Ace Of Spades (just doesn't quite work with a clean sound). After watching the various YouTube demos and reading this thread though, I'm now thinking I may actually use it as an always on pedal for warmth and growl and just crank it when I need a full on overdriven sound. Should arrive tomorrow so looking forward to having a play with it at Saturday nights gig!
I'm using the ehx glove for that lemmy drive tone (in my situation it nails it!), and the bsf as always on grit.
21. Could I get a pic of the rear pls?
22. I've tried many many brands over the years, including many of the buzz/ trend brands. All but Warwick red label, roto bass and swing bass left me cold and with a tone I couldn't work with. These days I'm using 50-110 and couldn't be happier with my tone
23. Looks like some sort of headphone amp
