1. I occasional have students that want to do rockschool. I'll help if I can
2. Sounds really interesting. Any chance of some more clips once you have it?
3. I can assure you this is he exception rather than the rule. I've gigged in Hastings for close to ten years now. I always enjoy the good natured audiences, and awesome 'seaside vibe' This is clearly just down to a w***er of a landlord who wants to impose his opinion on people trying to earn recognition and a crust.
4. Oasis Blur Early Rush- nothing wrong with them I just can't get over the squeaky vocal. Much improved now
5. Butler and ward Jones and bonham Flea and smith
6. The dano transparent overdrive is a great pedal for bass. I'd also second the mentions of bass soul food, cm2, and glove ( running at 18v internally) I own all of these, and they all get a huge amount of use
7. Iirc, the thunderball is a clone of the ehx bass blogger. I wasn't hugely keen when I tried it. Have you thought about the ehx nano bass big muff? Similar sort of price and based around the Russian muff. Never tried the 3rat. Certain Rats do have a reputation for dropping low end. Might be worth trying them if you can first.
8. I've been doing iem only gigs for years. The mxr m80/81 is great, transparent, and the eq can be incredibly useful. The hartke bass attack is good, and works really well. It has the classic hartke sound on tap, and has an effects loop too. Behringer make a clone of the sansamp bddi, it's pretty good as long as you can get on with the ampeg tone. Edens wtdi is great but the gain is VERY sensitive. I own all of these and have used them all in anger. My first choice is always my mxr m80. Very versatile, and has a separate drive channel, which can sound awesome with judicious use of the blend control
9. My old dod fx25 can do a great dub by/ reggae tone. Set the sensitivity to max, and the filter won't open.
10. Definitely the epi. I paused and looked I'm not a trainspotter, honest!!
11. I use a boss fv500h from time to time. Great feel, very similar to the eb. A lot cheaper too
12. It's called the idea band
13. I'm always on the rob when it comes to other players.. I watch intently trying to spot 'that cool thing' they do, and observe how they do it. I will then try to replicate it in my practice time. Once I have it under my fingers, I'll try it in a band situation ( as long as it's appropriate!) and if it adds to the vibe, it stays. If it doesn't, it gets saved for personal playing time.
14. Just Classic hillsong etc. it was the smaller of the two
15. My original board I reposted a few back was my church board
16. I played one a while back. It simply is one of the best p basses I have ever played. The sig/ livery bears no relation to the playability, but I simply won't endorse any kind of football club The sparkly blue model they're entry did had the same level of playability, and no extraneous logo. All I need to do now is find the cash!!!
17. Here ya go simonedward-
18. Sorely tempted with the nm2 :-/
19. I've been using an ibanez weeping demon for about 10 years or so. It's a wah which has settings for both bass and guitar, but I find I'm using the guitar setting as it really gives me the 'scream' I'm looking for.
20. Studiospares are doing a sennheiser channel 70 set for £125 at the mo. Reduced from £175 apparently
21. Blimey! My boards changed a fair bit since then!!!
22. Cheers Chris. I shall investigate further
