Price fixing has been obvious for years. I don't know why it took such a long time for anybody to do anything about it.

I played a gig with a MB802 the promoter supplied, and I couldn't hear a thing above a loudish drummer. The 801 has minimal EQ, one less speaker and 40 less watts. I have a Fender Rumble 100 V3, which is light as a feather, has lots of EQ and is capable of gigging with a civilised drummer. It cost me £165 secondhand.

Well Paul Mccartney has only used his Hofner, a Rickenbaker, a Jazz Bass during the White Album sessions and for a short time a Yamaha Precision. These days he sticks to the Hofner.

I really like this Waterboys song. The lyrics are very positive, it's called Open. You can't really go wrong with Mike Scott and The Waterboys. Most of his stuff has a positive vibe.

Possibly double bass? But playing electric bass makes you invisible.

20 years ago my P bass got stolen and I had no choice but to go with the cheapest option in my local music shop, which was a secondhand Charvel by Jackson. It was a 'Hair metal' bass and actually sounded great! All the Laney gear, I've played through in rehearsal studios, has been pretty loud and clear. I've always been impressed. Which is pretty good for budget gear.

I played the Mex Deluxe Precision and really liked it. I ended up buying the USA Elite Precision at £1,000 more (I was flush at the time and had never owned a USA bass before). It's a lovely bass but not really any better than the Mex version. Both are great and incredibly versatile.

You could give two prices, the modified price and the unmodified price. Then leave it up to the buyer to decide.

What's a minor increase in deaths, I wonder? 50,000 more people died than usual, in the winter of 17/18, due to that season's flu vaccine being ineffective. My whole family got it. There was no lockdown then, and the general public weren't made aware it was happening, until it was all over.

Interestingly, the Ultras don't have through body stringing any more. The Elites and the Deluxes always did. I wonder why?

A couple of years ago, our Blues Band did a few gigs down in England, on a mini tour. One of the gigs was at The Nottingham Theatre Royal. We didn't know it at the time, but it was for an OAP music group. They really loved it and we had a standing ovation (well from the ones who could actually stand). I could really see us playing care homes for 'Old Rockers'. If we were too loud they could just turn their hearing aids off, I suppose

I still have (most of) my second bass, I bought in 1984. It was a bass, that the owner before me, made from Mighty Mite parts. It's based on a precision body with a P/J pickup configuration. I got rid of the body, as it was made of mahogany and weighed a ton but I still have the neck and the pickups. The neck is now connected to a Jazz body and the Precision pickup is in my Classic Vibe Squier and, even though it's about 40 years old, is still sounding great.

Could you tell me who is singing on the track you're playing over Mr Wateroftyne? She sounds great. If you like that kind of soul, you'll like Mamas Gun (in case you've never heard of them before).

I've just set up my ABM EVO III through my BF Super Compact (after playing a GK MB 800 through the same cab). That ABM doesn't half kick some butt. It may be heavier than 20 class D amps but it is definitely the REAL DEAL.

I used to have one bass. It was a bitsa Jazz with a Precision neck. I was fine with that. That was less than 10 years ago. Now I have 13? Damn you basschat!

I was looking for a cheap electric guitar. The Andertons video gave the impression the Epiphone I was interested in, which was under £100 new was great. In reality, when I tried it out in the shop, it was the biggest pile of tinny, cheapo, rubbish, you could imagine. I ended up getting a used Yamaha Pacifica, for £68, which was head and shoulders above the Epiphone (and had been set up really nicely). This is the video. Just shows a good guitarist can make any piece of poo sound decent.

I own a USA Fender Jazz Deluxe and an Elite Precision. Both are really excellent basses. The sound and construction are top notch. But neither of them were cheap.

Sometimes it's the feel that matters more than whether it's a clean take or not. It's still a great bassline.
