Don't know if it's been long since you've emailed, I've been out so couldn't follow up on my text message. Can't promise anything but visiting my mum shortly, wouldn't mind making a drop off If you'll send me your postcode I can check out on my satnav the distance to yours. Reasonable price and accurate description, it's worth the money, no bad surprises. I won't go any lower. Can be reached on (079) 7342-5052 low signal strength area but check emails regularly. Ta, Helen. P.S. Will take cash only. I'm a cynical 845tard normally but this seems genuine...after all she's offering to drop it off and she's not asking for my bank/paypal details..
Don't even think about it!!!!!! Google her email address "][email protected] and you will find many stories about the others she/he has conned https://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&sugexp=les%3B&gs_nf=1&tok=3T8wQm2JC8fRP06qcer3LQ&cp=24&gs_id=2&xhr=t&q=helen75watson%40gmail.com&pf=p&safe=off&output=search&sclient=psy-ab&oq=helen75watson%40gmail.com+&gs_l=&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&fp=a2b18ffccd5cdbc5&biw=1024&bih=611 Start with the paypal scam and then the gumtree scam and then the fake courier message scam etc etc etc. You're just not cynical enough!
 5.
are you selling the loaded body?
No just the body on it's own. But if you want pickups, bridge, control plate, pots and scratchplate I can sell them to you seperately.
 6.
Hello, interested in this, would this work on a Jazz with mm jazz pickup combination? cheers.
If you're talking about a Musicman pickup fitted to a Jazz bass, then I assume so? Do you have a pre amp fitted already? To be sure I would email John East directly from his website http://www.east-uk.com/
 7.
I'm thinking of buying a vintage bass, largely as an investment, to play at home and maybe very very occassionally for gigs etc. I hear lots of talk of this year is better than that, this colour is better than that etc etc but I'm keen to hear advice on this. My likes are:- clay dots/rosewood board; sunburst, blonde, fiesta red or sonic blue - don't care if it's a Precision or a Jazz - would need to be fully functional and as original as possible - i.e it would need to have the covers and case etc etc. If a Precision I don't like the pre-57 shape. So guys, please advise - what do you think is the best year, colour and model to aim for of a pre CBS Fender, bearing in mind it's intended to be an investment and increase in value.
Do vintage basses value increase over the years? Or do they just keep up with inflation? Whatever, it's got to be a better investment than putting your money into shares or in the bank.
 8. Lovely Natural Maple body from a Squier Vintage Modified 70s bass £60 including P&P. Excellent condition. The first picture shows it connected to a neck on my spare Jazz (the neck is for sale as well).
 9. John East J-Retro Pre Amp for sale. This is the solderless version which you can just drop into the control cavity of your Jazz Bass and then attach to the pickups via the screw connection. It's a fantastic pre amp, which I've had fitted in my spare Jazz for about 9 months. When I first bought it, the treble pot gave a very slight electronic crackle when adjusted (which now and again it still does). I didn't bother to inform John East about it because, other than that, it works perfectly.
 10. Fender Classic 60s Jazz maple neck with Rosewood fretboard for sale. This is a very classy neck with a vintage tint, in excellent condition, from a 2011 classic 60s Jazz Bass. It has RW written on the heel so I assume this is also the neck that Fender use on the 'Road Worn' series of basses. Unlike most Mexican necks it has the truss rod adjuster at the body end, like US and Japanese necks do. If you would also like the vintage tuners, with large backplate, that comes with the neck I can include them for an extra £15.
 11. You need The Bass Doc http://basschat.co.uk/user/4905-the-bass-doc/ ask him nicely and he'll make up whatever you need for a reasonable price.
 12.
Really? I've got an old MF135 tractor but I didn't know the engine noise was protected. Good excuse for this (although not a MF tractor):
I aways thought Harley Davidsons sounded a lot like tractors.
 13.
thanks Bill im not going to find anybody round here with the time or inclination TBH! Ive ordered the kappalite 3015LF and im gonna bung it my old ashdown 115 deep mag cab or my warwick wca 115 and hope for the best! Trial and error on this one im afraid!

+1. The LF is a subwoofer driver, with scant highs. It also has less sensitivity than the standard 3015, and requires a larger box for good results. OP, if you can cancel the LF for a standard 3015 you should do so.
If it was Blue Aran you bought it off you won't have any problem changing the order just give them a call.
 14.
Yes, I do understand how Ebay works. My selling cap is 750 quid, so I couldn't even put a reasonable reserve price on it.
The sellers cap on ebay just means that if you have sold over a certain amount that month you can't sell anymore until ebay confirm your address. The way they do that is send a letter with a number on it to your address. You input that number on ebay and automatically your limit goes up. My limit went from £850 per month to over £3000 per month. Just request a higher limit and ebay will issue the confirmation letter for you. Also this thread shows how dating Fenders through serial numbers, dates of manufacture or 3/4 bolt necks is not an exact science http://basschat.co.uk/topic/166508-fender-jazz-bass-1976-for-sale/
 15.
I'll see if I can pick up a cheap mini soldering iron and give it a bash. So damn annoying, was grooving to some Prince - Let's Work then.... silence
Maplins on dalry rd will give you a soldering iron and a pack of solder for about £10. Look up youtube videos on how to solder before you start messing about with it though.

These are top of the range speakers and because they're neodynium they're really light too. Because it's brand new it will take a while to loosen up. You can use this 25 hz sound file from barefaced cabs to run through it for a few hrs to get a full bass response quicker if you like. 17. For all the Jazz geeks out there......Interestingly the rear pickup is directly in line with the tone knob, like a 70's reissue.
 18.
eminence kappalite, eeeek seen the price of em!!!
Try another with a similiar frequency range but with a normal driver. The neodynium driver in the kappalite pushes the price up. They use the neodynium to make the speaker much lighter but there's no difference in the sound with a normal driver (it's just heavier). The eminence Kappa is just £68. The kappa pro is £100. I just bought an eminence kappa for £40 from Blue Aran as graded stock. It had a small crease on the cone but was tested and sounds fine. Received it next day - great service. 19.
hello well im looking for a 210 cab to add to my 8 ohm 115, so far no luck! Obviously i want an 8 ohm 210 to add so i get the required 4 ohm 500w max load. However havent seen too many 8 ohm cabs but a few 4 ohm 210's out there. Im sure this has been asked before but has anyone run this config - one x 8 ohm and one x 4 ohm cabs into an amp with a 4 ohm minimum impedance? Did you blow up? Is it wise? (probably no!) Any advice greatly appreciated!
Buy a decent quality 15 inch speaker, like a eminence kappalite, and fit it in your Ashdown cab. These are the ones Barefaced cabs use in their compacts and have an extended frequency range. That should get rid of the wooliness and be cheaper than buying a new cab.
 20.
He's a she. Sent me a text asking I correspond via email. Have done twice now. No response.....holding breath......can't keep holding breath......
Watch out. When somethings too good to be true............it usually is.
 21. He's either desperate for cash or it's a scam. Nobody sells a £600/700 bass for £300.

 23. I hate to think what that filth by the bridge consists of?
 24.
All you have to do is play one to rid you of these unwanted desires.
I suspect you're right. After all Paul originally bought it because Fenders were too expensive and left handed ones were even more expensive. For years he played other basses and for a long time played a Yamaha.
 25. Fender American Standard Jazz Bass Black S-1 Switch, Hard Case £300. I sent a messgae to him to say he's selling it too cheaply and to sell it on basschat instead at a decent price but no answer yet.
