  1. Stock in 1 - 2 weeks any good? https://www.thomann.de/gb/search_dir.html?sw=dimarzio+model+p&smcs=0f9bdd_8455
  2. It's all about the beard ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  3. In '73 I went up to that London to get myself some new gear ๐Ÿ˜Ž I had recently aquired a new shiny plastic thing called Barclaycard and it was burning a hole in my pocket โ˜บ๏ธ After trying every Rickobasher in town and being incredibly p1553ed off with them, I fell in love with a beautiful blonde Gherson Jazz, had to have it! Then - trying it through a HiWatt 100 and a cab I can't remmember - I wanted more of everything, grunt, heft, trouser flapping wind, etc.etc. The sales guy said 'hang on a minute' and rushed out of the shop, returning shortly with a monster Orange cab, on a trolley, standing 5 foot high and 2 foot wide and about the same weight as HMS Ark Royal, concealing 2 x 18" massive cones. It sounded wonderful, fulfilling all my dreams, to be the envy of every other bass player, (in Bexhill at least!). It was 'perfect', fitted in the back of my Mk1 Cortina estate with amp and bass just right! 2 weeks later I was back in town buying another HiWatt 100 to push even more air through it ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Those really were the good ol' days, then in '75 I got married, '76 it all came to a bitter end, I had to give up gigging, she couldn't stand the lifestyle of a bass playing rock 'n roll hero, you've heard it all before ๐Ÿคฉ
  4. You're dead right, all these parts are becoming harder to find here and yes, I have everything in stock ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. Lovely ๐Ÿ‘ I realy wanted one a few years back, but - - -
  6. Hendrix for me too, maybe it's age related, saw him a few times live, long before anybody had even heard of Prince ๐Ÿ˜Ž Playing 1983 a merman I should turn to be just a few minutes ago ๐ŸŽธ
  7. A impuse buy I have to admit, as soon as the advert came up I grabbed the necks, a good start to a new project. A pleasure to deal with, very easy transaction and very pleased with them, arrived today. Cheerz, John
  8. Mark got in touch re a loom to liven up his HB, I obliged ๐Ÿ˜Š. Great communications and instant payment, a perfect transaction, pleasure to deal with. Cheerz, John
  9. You probably need a shim in the neck pocket, but remove the neck and first see if there is one already! If there is at the bottom end, nearest the pick-ups, take it out. If not then fit one at the top, furthest away from the pick-ups. Try something about 10/12 thousandths of an inch to start with, like a piece of a business card. HTH, John
  10. Find out what sizes Allen keys you need for your bass/es, are they Metric or Imperial? A couple of screwdrivers that fit what you want, a small adjustable spanner, strings, string cutters, small file, spare battery, spare lead, mini tuner - pretty much covers everything ๐Ÿ˜Ž Far more use than a cheap 'multitool' I reckon.
  11. Armchair diagnosis practically impossible, other than dry joints I dunno! Have you got a illuminated magnifier or microscope? Good luck
  12. to give an alternative tone cap value, as just two options would be enough for me ๐Ÿ˜Œ @Nodd, @Greggo, Hi guys, Yes I do a simplified - but adequate and very affordable version ๐Ÿ˜Ž 4 position rotary switch, fits in a 3/8" 'pothole' and gives you; 1 Kill, 2 By-pass, 3 33nF, 4 100nF Other cap values can be used, but those give a good differential and I think cover most needs. Solderless installation, screw terminals, can replace a tone pot, standard P-bass knob fits or Chicken Head. PM me if interested please. Cheerz, John
  13. @glassmoon, you have a PM. I have these in stock. Cheerz, John
  14. GLWS Jon, might be an idea to put P-bass in the title ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have to agree - with that Status neck ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  15. Bloody foam! I took a gun out of it's case today only to find the cylinder, (it's a revolver), stuck up with degrading lumps of the bloody foam - that's supposed to be there to protect the contents!! Makes my p155 boil ๐Ÿ˜  At least my bass cases have a nice finish friendly, (I hope), furry lining over the foam.
  16. Over the years I've participated on forums for fishing, shooting, radio control models, gardening, photography, cars and boats, with probably a few I've forgotten, but this is the exeption that proves the rule - if there is one - as already stated, 99.9% of the members are a pleasure to deal with and generally communicate with, 99.9% of the time. Mega group hug ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ‘
  17. Hey Andy, how ya doin? Here's another idea ๐Ÿ’ก how about a pick up that slides smoothly from 'almost' bridge to neck, controlled by a rotary like a volume, that you can move while playing! A step up from a Westone rail ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  18. I have genuine Amphenol replacements for those, or you can substitue a standard Switchcraft #11. PM me if you're interested. Cheerz, John
  19. 'What's good'! https://www.audioaffair.co.uk/linn-uphorik What's affordable? A different story, but should be plenty of pre's around. Edit: https://www.whathifi.com/best-buys/accessories/best-phono-preamps
  20. + 1, has a very cool one off look, a black pg might spoil it. Nice job Jon ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  21. Custom Audio taper > smooth linear!? .022uF cap has no place on a P bass! What quality? Switchcraft or not? Twist and bodge! Just my opinion like ๐Ÿ™„
