  1. The 2 big caps will be the most expensive obviously, while you're in there - or your tech. if you find one - I'd say replace all the electrolytics, they won't cost a fortune. You could do with checking all the diodes too. No armchair diagnosis is going to be perfect, there's no substitute for a real life inspection/repair/test. I'd have a word with PJB first though. Cheerz, John
  2. It's a pleasure to start a thread for Mike, he contacted me about a wiring kit for his Mustang, spot on comms and instant payment, a perfect transaction. Very happy to deal with again and highly recommend. Cheerz, John
  3. Another loom for Alex, Jaguar with series/parallel, I think he likes it 😁 Perfect transaction from a great basschatter - again πŸ˜‰ Cheerz, John
  4. I worked with Ander's idea for his P-bass and made up a loom with my tone switch - which he's rather pleased with 😁 Splendid chap to deal with, great comms and instant payment - perfect transaction - very happy to recommend and deal with again. Cheerz, John

  9. Spending out big bucks on pick-ups and fitting them in with standard el cheapo wiring pots and jack is just the wrong way round of doing things πŸ˜‰
  10. That's shocking, no age at all, my condolences to his family and friends. I only knew Martin through his 'wheeling and dealing' here, always a pleasure to deal with. RIP MB1
  11. Steve ordered a loom for his Jazz, first time he'd done anything like fitting a loom so a few questions later - bingo - all's well and sounding great. Learning curve completed 🀩 great success! A pleasure to deal with, instant payment and great comms, highly recommended. Cheerz, John

  16. https://www.fender.com/en-GB/squier-electric-basses/precision-bass/mini-precision-bass/0370127554.html Not a bad price either IMO.
  17. Tried to sign up, got the email but no link to activate membership and no answer from Mark πŸ™„
  18. The white from your pick up is the same as the blue show in the diagram

  20. Centre tag of the volume pot almost certainly. EDIT Note to self; open picture up and have a closer look before typing next time.
  21. Hello Nige, I don't offer a relicing service on my kits, I believe it's quite a time consuming thing to do - but not as long as doing it *the real way* 😎
  22. The side on pic of the neck makes it appear to have quite a dip around the 5th fret, maybe just my old eyes or the way the photo's taken, but it struck me when I first saw it, then I put a straight edge up to it πŸ™„
  23. What have I always said about preamps? Stay at least a field away from them! Good luck Jack and well done Gary!
