  1. Had a similar one when I took Peter Green to see Fleetwood Mac, and Mick Fleetwood pointed him out to the crowd!
  2. ^ This. Everything @Bassassin says here is spot on. If you do like the thin neck then do look around for a higher level secondhand Ibby as there are bargains to be had. That's not to say the 300 is in anyway a poor choice.
  3. My mate from school was percussionist on the Pulse tour (and the one before that). He said the band had a great time on tour as they never got pestered in hotels or walking about town as very few people recognised them.
  4. Sometimes called IBMs, intense bearded men 😄
  5. Saw Jimmie Vaughan at Hammersmith Odeon a few years back and 'Robert Plant' from one of the top Zep tributes of the time was in the audience. The amount of attention he was getting in the Bar, Jimmie could have probably walked straight past unnoticed.
  6. Not usually a fan of quilts/flame tops but that is lovely. Like the headstock too.
  7. To me that equates as supportive. Need a certain strength of relationship for that to work.
  8. Oh, and in answer to the second part of the OP, yes, it is very important.
  9. My wife has been brilliant. When kids were younger the only restriction on gigs was nothing weekend daytime. She hasn't been into the music I've been playing in the past, so now kids are older she doesn't come to gigs, but a change in musical style post lockdown could help there.
  10. Yes, very nice. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I've been hearing lots of really good new stuff on BBC 6 Music lately. All sorts of genres, some of which I'm not personally a fan, but can still hear its merits. Just as a taster, I'll kick off with: Curtis Harding Joel Culpepper Black Country New Road Squid Jungle Dry Cleaning What has caught your ear this year?
  12. That will be a lot of other brands that they make for as well then (G&L as one already mentioned here).
  13. Like this. Funny the dislike for rap. Much of it seems to claim it isn't music/musical. Personally I think a lot of rap producers use the music element very cleverly. Even if it use of samples this still requires musical knowledge and skill. I did have to look up what Hip Hop is as opposed to rap. Glad I did.
  14. Both incredible players, but I'm going to agree with you entirely here.
  15. Yes, likewise. No cinema release near me so looks like DVD in September.
  16. Heard a little bit about this on Lauren Laverne's 6 Music show this morning - sounds fabulous!
  17. That Tele looks great. On a much milder vibe, I loved the Peterbilt bass made from a dynamite box.
  18. Well the thread has been worth it just for that! Hope you like the original?
  19. Nadine Shah stood in for Guy Garvey on 6 Music on Sunday. Thought this was a corker!
  20. I've known of him as a Jazz artist. Seems like he works on a lot on arts projects. Looks like a very talented guy.
  21. Don't know if he is doing this show elsewhere, but this looks like an interesting gig, and just down the road from me! https://botw.ticketline.co.uk/order/tickets/13357879/cleveland-watkiss-presents-the-great-jamaican-songbook-at-komedia-brighton-brighton-komedia-2021-10-25-19-30-00
  22. Bit of a theme with their covers - slightly reminiscent of Eloise. Big, grandiose production numbers.
  23. Pretty jealous. Would love to play some Band stuff again, especially with a drummer that gets it.
