We had our first ever heckler at last night's gig. A man on crutches complaining about our material. It concerned me slightly, until I overheard him afterwards telling someone that he was off to a rave, and would then be getting on a plane to 'Libyeria' to go rescue some people...

One of these days, i will give up bands for good. It will be either a} when my hands become too arthritic to play, or b} when i become too old and frail to lift a bass, or c} when they screw the lid down.

Oh how I remember having an altercation many years ago with a studio engineer... Heard him EQing the hell out of my Wal's sound on the track i'd put down, asked him what he was doing and he replied "I was trying to get a sort of Ricky sound on it...". I politely informed him that if i'd wanted it to sound like a Ricky, guess what? i'd have used a feckin' Ricky in the first place, and so would he please mind leaving my tone alone thank you very much. Arse.

Amp: Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 with two 1x15" cabs Amp EQ settings: all three Signal Shape buttons engaged; all shelving controls flat. Bass EQ settings: slight bass boost, all others flat.

8 months ago, if you'd told me that I'd have really really REALLY bad GAS for a 5 string P bass, I'd have laughed... EDIT: Santa, [url="http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/pbass5whitefull.jpg"]this one[/url] please. Oh everso, yes.

I'm in a 13 piece band, so once it's divvied up it's comes to near enough bugger-all anyway plus we do a few charity gigs that really do pay nothing. So yes, I would, and nearly do, play for now't. But if it started costing me [i]large[/i] amounts of folding, then in the current circumstances i'd have to reconsider.

Some of the Tobias Pro basses were absolute belters. I had a sixer that was beautiful, wish I hadn't flogged it. The pickups can be weedy, but 275 is an absolute bargain. Lovely bit of flame in that body wood too. Looks like a great bass for little money.
