1.
I know Walter Trout has played a lowly Squier Strat for donkeys years. I'm sure he could have any guitar he liked but wouldn't be without the Squier.
Francis Dunnery (ex It Bites) was the same -- for years his #1 guitar was a white Squier Strat. He had 'proper' Fenders but always drifted back to the cheapy. He used to say a guitar was only as good as its neck and for him, the Squier's was perfect.

Has anyone built an isolating hum-free ABY switcher? I've found this schematic and am wondering about putting one together. Anyone made one? http://www.geofex.com/FX_images/humfree2.gif I've seen the thread on diystompboxes and was wondering if anyone has had the same problems?
3. I went the bitsa route. Started off with a Squier Jazz neck I liked, found a cheap solid body on fleabay (the seller measured the neck pocket for me), and went on from there. How about this as a start? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201713748283
4. Have a free "ooh look, it's my old bass!" bump Served me well for many years, sounded great and played like a dream. And that quilt top really is very lovely.
I had a go on this beauty and it really is something very different. A real Diva.
That's gorgeous. It even manages to make Delano's silly oval pickup look good.
6.
May regret moving this on, so withdrawing for now and having a think about combining with the BFm omnis. UK made 1x10 300 watt Ashdown EVO combo. Brilliant little beast, comes with cover. Selling as going back to separates. Might consider trade for a head. Collection or meet up round Bath/Bristol area.
Un-withdrawn bump.
7. Nice little interview and live album news here. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-37924894

9. Unless there are huge holes in it or bits hanging off it, that's a great price. Personally I'd take the seller's arm off.
10. Generally I hate pointy gtrs/basses, but I've always really liked the Explorer shape.
11. I'm just going to pop outside and check my lawn for groundhogs.
12. Did anyone else listen to Friday Night Is Music Night on Radio 2 the other, errm, night? Celebrating 80 years of television, it was wall to wall TV themes all played beautifully by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Highlights for me were Grandstand, Hill Street Blues and Inspector Morse, but it was all superb. And I'd never noticed before that the Are You Being Served? theme had such a cool bassline! It's available on the iPlayer, highly recommended.
13. Our MD specialises in 'interesting' arrangements. For example: - 16 bars of Soul Limbo in the middle of Walking on Sunshine. - Mashup of Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This and 7 Nation Army. - 32 bars of Walk This Way in the middle of Walk The Dinosaur.
14. As a Wal owner, I am hopelessly biased 😄 but I also had a Status for many years and, yes, chalk and cheese.
15.
Spaghetti logo. These early models caused a conflict with Fender, they didn't like it. Lawsuit if you like. Funny how the woods in the 82-83 USA Fenders, Fenders up to 73', 82-83 JV's and early Tokai basses give the basses a warm tone, punchy, and an even volume across the strings (including pre CBS of course) and are much sought after. I've replaced the original pickup - which is A1, with a Seymour SPB3. As the pole pieces in the SD are big, it does make it a very loud bass. Has some dings on the body as you would expect. Frets still good with no fret buzz. Truss rod works fine. Nut width 40mm Weight 3.9kg 8.6lbs. Original p/u included New set of 45-105 Rotosound round wound strings on. Tatty case included.
Nnnnnice. These Tokais are often better than the real thing. GLWTS!
16. Three that spring immediately to mind are 'For Once In My Life' -- for my money, Jamerson's finest hour -- 'Cupid's Dead' by Extreme, and Manring's 'The Enormous Room'.
17.
Sell it. Someone out there will love it & you can get something you'd be happier with.
100%.
18. The live 'Bring On The Night' album is one of my favourite albums of all time. It's worth having just for the first track.
19.
I ditched all of my pedals about 6 months ago, and I'm now using a MacBook, soon to be replaced by an iPad .
I too ditched all my stomps -- the Deep Impact too, that took a deep breath -- and went down the Line 6 route. A Bass Pod XT Live in my case. Weighs about the same as the pedalboard but neater and more convenient. Ok so the models aren't as good as the real thing, but hey, it's live. Nobody notices but me 😄😄
20.
It's a Westone Rainbow 2, a Matsumoko offering from 1986, a Y.O.B for me. I've had it for about 20 years. It's beautiful
Having just googled, I concur. Very pretty.
21. My Wal and my Shuker. Neither of them are going anywhere.
22. I like sound of flats, on a P especially -- who doesn't? 😎 -- but I absolutely HATE the feel of them. That smoothness feels almost slimy, it really makes my skin crawl. Eucchhh.
