  1. Unfortunately, the links to Major-Minor's fabulous Boot Camp series of tutorials were lost as part of the site migration. Thankfully I had saved them offline onto my PC for future reference; unfortunately (and I hadn't realised until I checked earlier) I only saved Sessions 1 to 26e. Thankfully, Stevie had saved Sessions 27 to 36, which means we've got the complete set! 2. The rate at which my fingers are succumbing to the arthritis, I'll settle for still being able to play this time next year.
  3. Ditto heavy cabs. My days of 50kg 4x10s are well over. My old SWR Triad sounded beautiful, but remembering its planet-like weight is enough to dispel any thoughts of having another one for any reason whatsoever.
  4. I lose most of my money through magic. I get paid one day, and when I look at my bank balance 48 hours later, hey presto! it's all buggered off.
  5. Me too. Fantastic stuff.
  6. Saw a Noel Redding signature Jazz on fleabay some years ago; I put in a bid, lost out for a very small amount, it went for a song. Why the hell didn't I put in a bigger bid?
  7. I usually take my stand out to gigs. More often than not it's hidden off to one side and just holds set list, picks, towel etc. If I'm depping then it carries my notes & chord charts. One of these, I like it a lot. Tremendous VFM. : https://m.thomann.de/gb/thomann_orchesterpult.htm?o=0&search=1514722872
  8. I usually describe it as "a mixture of soul, Motown, pop, and stupidity".
  9. Yes you do, and in your fantasy they turn out to be lovely chaps and not jerks at all. For my fantasy, it's Steely Dan or Mike Stern.
  10. Milliontown -- Frost* Upside Downside -- Mike Stern Power Windows -- Rush
  11. It's obviously a very important message Very handsome bass.
  12. I heard a story about Mike Rutherford once, to the effect that the reason he got together with Steinberger to develop the full bodied Steiny M-series guitar was because one of his kids had told him he looked really stupid playing the cricket-bat version. True or not, still funny
  13. Probably just me being picky, but if I was laying down that sort of folding stuff on a bass I'd want the strings to line up a bit better with the pickup polepieces. Lovely colour though.
  14. Prince. No question at all in my mind. How many people can claim to have single-handedly produced, arranged, composed AND performed many of their finest works?
  15. Exclusively 5s at the moment, although I do have some 4s 'just in case'. And I'm putting together a fretless Ray-alike 4 that I'm hoping to shoehorn into the set somewhere
  16. That headstock is totally wrong on that bass. The body is ok in a Carvin-y Conklin-y sort of way. Nothing remarkable though.
  17. No, we're discussing it. You're complaining that we're discussing it. Funny though, I was under the impression that jazz is thriving. Lots of new young artists coming through, etc. Certainly the jazz scene in Bristol is as lively as it's ever been.
  18. I've had three equipment failures in my gigging career. 1 broken string, 1 battery box in active bass, and 1 total wireless system failure. The last two were rather more serious than the first! My guitarist has regular amp failures, he just patches it up the next day. He's a Yorkshireman and is therefore allergic to spending money; the idea of buying a new amp sends him into a cold sweat.
