1. Go to the link below then click live performances and choose the first one reading & Leeds , then please tell me how the Jazz (0.44) becomes a Ric (1.10) what am I missing ? https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/artists/bdc343bd-1c45-4a5d-b956-c4429f3dbba5
2. I tend to stick my board nearer my amp and not at the front of the stage , this only works as I don't use it during songs only in between . If I where you , although it's a new problem on me , is juts get a longer cable and use a route away from the singer
3. That's most likely how I'd look trying to play a lefty
4.
Thanks for your response but I should've pointed out that this is a new bass (bought today) I have other bass's where this is not a problem at all. I think it may be the neck (Truss rod adjustment) but not sure.
If you don't think you can do it yourself , take a bass you get on with and the new bass to a tech and ask him or her to copy the set up
5. Thanks people , I'm getting used to the Jazz now in its own right . I guess it's all about feeling good with the sound your getting in your own ears through your own can and monitors , regardless of what's going on out front I've a Jazz , a stingray and a few Ps , don't recommend this as it's hard to know what is preferred , best just have one
6. My main 3 basses where brought second hand and already had dings in , so I don't worry too much
7. 4s , a 5 , and a six string acoustic Should I have rocked other for a keyboard bass synth ?
8. I keep looking at this , always wanted a early stingray in this scheme
9. I've got a Japanese PB62RI which is wonderful
10. Yeah , l loved the Joni Mitchell stuff also I'd like to hear someone record some of Jacos work but with a different tone , like on a warm P bass etc , not in anyway a critical comment about his work , just think it would interesting as everyone I have heard with the talent to reproduce his stuff also does a great job with the exact tone. I hope no one takes this the wrong way , I enjoy hearing different takes on wonderful work.
11. I use these plastic washer things you twist , about £2 from the local music shop , never let me down in years
12. Your looking for someone who is committed to a detailed knowledge of the man in question , which you might find hard to find , if you do though , you'd have a great product
13. Never played one , but can't remember ever reading anything bad about one on a forum , only positives given the price point
14.
Pub rock crap or Coldplay?
15. I've got a natural / maple CIJ PB70US with a really fat but lovely playable neck profile It's an awesome bass , and has reverse pups from factory
16.
Surely the next natural step to this discussion is "Bands you do like, which have a member you don't like." Trickier, but i'm sure they exist.
That's easy as I can't deny I enjoyed a Gilter band live show in the late 80s , how was I to know
17.
Are punch cards more evil than TAB?
+ it's all in the fingers Love it , and all that tech and they are still use boss pedals
18.
and don't even get me started on the inherent tuning problems within Western equal temperament tuning! ;-)
Oh please do , sounds interesting
19.
Awesome! Love that sound
Yep , and nice to see some passion for simple things like this
20. Looks nice regardless , do the serial numbers check out
21.
Anyway isn't it all in the fingers?
I hope not my fingers are losing sensitivity due do my condition I realise the thread is pointless and only we care or notice Thanks all for replies
22.
On the few occasions it has happened I have questioned it with the payer and been told it's a bonus for doing a good job.
Same , question it and keep it if it's intended
23. Thanks for all the replies , nearly there is good enough and I might find the neck pick up nice to dial in Don't want to swap necks around but nice idea , I actually have an un used MIA precision neck and tuners sitting around It will mostly likely be for my last gig ever and I've gone for the Jazz as the neck is better for me than my Ps or Ray
