5 string sterling Ray35 musician bass with the following serious upgrades that where professionally fitted A Nordstrand MM 5.4 pickup & a John East MMSR 3 Band/4 Knob Preamp. Comes in a rigid armoudillo gigbag/case. Bass is priced at half the new cost without considering the upgrades (done by previous owner but worth £400) Ideally collection from Surrey so you can see the bass for real but can post at buyers expense Cost now £400 for quick sale and is Plus shipping

Condition preference when buying a used Fender basslojo replied to bassaussie's topic in General Discussion Sadly I'm more selling than buying these days due to illness , but Over the the years I've always been happy buying instruments which have been well used and and dings in , just meant I could use and gig without worry .

Is he saying "rock" peaked and all bands since are other forms such as "metal" but not what he calls rock ?

I feel for you , I've gone from being an active bass player who also loved playing football to a cancer victim in the last year and it's hard to except the changes when things are taken from you . The only advise I can offer is find small things you enjoy you can do just try to keep going forward a day at a time Good luck to you AndyBob

I'm sure I used to rehearse there in the 90s if so it's been going a long time

I love playing Bernard Edward songs or similar. Fun to play and always great to see people dancing . Of course there are 100 other ones I love also

I love the Ray , but the problem is it's unplayable

Random and a bit casual approach to bass playinglojo replied to Barking Spiders's topic in General Discussion Your the only normal person on this site A Precision put the box is all that is need really isn't it

Funny that Cat Scratch Fever has come up in a 70s rock set I need to play I am alone in not finding this as funny as it could be ?

Completely non scientific but when I changed from heavy Orange cabs to light weight MarkBass I gigged my orange cabs with the markbass head before I switched to markbass cabs only . Whilst I love markbass , the orange cabs have a punch that I've not heard in any neo cab . Not enough of a diffence to make me stick with heavy cabs , but a difference I'll not forget. This was nearly 10 years ago and I've been a mark bass fan ever since . I've tried lightweight TC and Orange also

That's a lovely bass , I was very tempted to buy that bass as I was looking for a 5 string for my 80s band . I ended up taking a trade for a Ray35 for one of my P bass .

Yeah I was wrong , after I posted I looked on eBay and was quite surprised to see the bids on some cassettes. Thanks , I'm finding the replies on here really interesting

Since just before starting this thread I've been making a massive effort to listen to whole albums , I've just picked a handful of favourite artists and have been going through in release date , it's been quite refreshing rather than constantly just playing selected tracks via playlists

Guess the genre or style from the band namelojo replied to MoonBassAlpha's topic in General Discussion Pop Goth ?

Well records get used as place mats , so that's a fair answer to what may happen to CDs

Another thing is although I think my family Spotify fee is well spent and you can download , My Sonos system only streams , so if your wifi goes down your stuck unless you've another way to play . Guess wifi goes down less and less these days
