Same here , I love some budget basses , but strings have to be quality Im looking forward to getting my hands on the Ray35 I've done in a trade Hopefully I'll get on well and I can put my Stingray 4 string up for sale
-
Thanks , shopping around I've now found them for £50 which might be ok considering I love them worn in. Maybe it's my chance to try to enjoy rounds again
-
Cool and your right it is a consideration , fortunately I'm not someone who changes strings often but for someone who likes fresh rounds it might be an issue to consider if your not that flush

Classic internet come back , I wasn't really being that serious or complaining just adding to the debate 😀

One down side of a 5 is this .. I'm due to receive a 5 string in a trade and haven't had one in a while so I look up the cost of my favourite flats which I use on my 4s , cost £70 ! Anyone use a different string for the B ? Seriously it's so low anyway I wonder if it would notice

Browsing this thread as I've just got Ray 35 In a trade , well coming soon 😀

Although I would seem obvious to start on a 4 because that's a traditional electric bass , the 5s and 6s are instruments in their own right and can of course be learnt on . Thats like saying you should master acoustic bass / guitar before going onto the more modern idea of electric

How many songs can you play? (Without help/ music/ tabs)lojo replied to T-Bay's topic in General Discussion Would guess I know up to a few hundred covers , but I bet I only retain the exact structures in my head of less than 50 at any given time without a brush up maybe even less , basslines and parts yes , but exact order of events in songs , that's where I struggle .

Will hope this develops , a 5 sting headless would be one of my dream bases

£250 to sky high depending on loads of factors I have been in various bands where we've charged £500 to a few thousand , and also one where i just got £150 per gig (but only turned up to play and didn't worry about PAs etc)

Sweet child o mine -from nothing to done in two days, any ideas?lojo replied to T-Bay's topic in General Discussion Well done , and I would like to add that it's not so hard , sit back and listen to songs and write down structures breaking the songs in parts that repeat , this makes complicated songs look more easy on paper , this works for me anyway.

Again thanks really helpful So far we are looking at £1600 studio costs to record and master 6 tracks , still a few questions about the mastering for different formats based on BigReds figures above I would guess this is in the right ball park ? I am speaking to a small European record company tomorrow who are interested in us but I'm not sure if this will wrk or indeed be better for us than doing it ourselves , although they will have more experience We have interest from fans here and in Europe for the release , not sure if it's enough to make our money back but if we get close I think we will be happy to have done it and had the experience Thanks again please keep the comments going , I've played in bands for years but I am a complete amateur with this side of things (as is my whole band) Lojo

Fantastic response thanks so much everyone , I'm going to print off so I can digest properly

Any tips on getting a run of vinyl made for your band ? I've been tasked with arranging this for a project. I have done a search for threads and can't find anything similar , but if there is already one I'm happy to have this closed if a link can be provided thanks in advance
