1.
The guys with the RIC account at Rosetti won't like this............
Neither will RIC, but it really does take some doing to alienate so many possible customers, in one niche market, in one day. Wish there was an applause emoticon
2. Don't sell it Chris, it will be worth a fortune in a years time . Good luck bump.
3. What happened to the other 2 spoof threads, were they removed for being copies ?
4.
So do I. But that's because I'm part Chinese.
And here's me thinking you are the blonde geezer in your avatar
5. Wish I hadn't sold mine, gonna be worth a fortune in a years time

Fecking bugger

Welcome
7. Some of the shenanigans on a certain area of Basschat have actually had me crying with laughter today. I've got no work done, good job I'm my own boss and can work late to catch up. Don't think I've uncontrollably laughed so much since Basil and Manuel first struck. Thank you Basschat.
8.
i takie it! give me your account number! awsome instrument, do you dell it with headstock or i need to buy new one?
You can't afford it Mathew, you've just paid for my, errrrmm, 1970's familiar looking bass guitar
9. Knock it on the head guys, I'm getting no work done and I'm crying with laughter
10.
I know where you live
That's it, I've officially wet myself
11. It's going to be blokes in long trenchcoats and Homburg's meeting at midnight to exchange goods and cash before long .
12. Perhaps a bit more forethought would have gone down well. Somewhere in the region of 20, 000 members, or potentially 20,000 customers. Not really the place to hack off even a small percentage of potential customers. Especially for an exclusive niche market product. I really do hope some good comes of this. Mr Hall, I honestly think if you backed off the pre-lawsuit stuff, you would find a lot more people with a lot more respect and empathy for the stance of your undeniably respected business. Karl.
13.
1 Rick down, 3 to go. Will never have one in this house again.
Should have hocked one for my Bergs . Right, I really must calm down and get some work done
14.
Fender tried something awhile ago, putting pressure on retailers (blocking stock if ifringing) but there were too many bolted horses. Jon is just trying to maximise the value of the brand as a family asset. Not like he's a banker or politician or soemthing, but it isn't quite in the spirit of rock 'n roll....
People would have a lot more empathy if he backed off pulling every 30+ year old copy.
15. Nice one Musky, safe font of knowledge as usual. Wouldn't it be comical if the actual trade marks registered in 1993 only covered that shape headstock, TRC,with the word Rickenbacker on it .
16. I have a great deal of respect for RIC and John Hall for what they do in regard to this, however it really does stagger me that they try to stop the private sales of 30+ year old basses that were made before they had their copyrights. Fair enough with instruments that were made after the legal issues, even though there is some doubt as to wether or not they apply in whichever country. In terms of there market, few who can afford a Rickenbacker would buy a copy so does it really massively affect there sales? It does in one way. I have had 4 real Ricks. I will never buy another after an advert of mine was pulled on FEEBay a couple of years back. As I said, fair play to Mr Hall, but I think he would be better drawing a line in the sand at pre-lawsuit. He would certainly get some kudos, IMHO. Strange how FEEBay seem to pull less business sellers ads for modern Rick copies, again, IMHO.
17. Bump for this gorgeous Jazz, whilst asking mckendrick, "Do you know where I can find the schematic, with parts numbers for a 1998 Fender Donald Duck Dunn Limited Edition, crafted in Japan?" cos I'm buggered if I can find it, Bump
18. These are usually 40mm nut width perfect for those of us who want a P but not with such a wide nut. They play like the Devil, that colour is as rare as my wallet opening and would look sublime with a Brown Tortie plate. I am actually salivating. 1 week ago this would have been mine .
19. Steady Tom, back to the Glenmorangie with you. Oh, and sold subject to usual.
20. NNNOOOOOOHHHHHH! I've just bought a Fender Donald Duck Dunn and then this comes up. Bugger, bugger and thrice bugger. Good luck with the sale, like you'll need it. Karl.
21. Impressive, Dr, Dave or Watson?
22. More PM'S replied to, thanks for the interest folks. Answers. The unusual finish is original that's how these limited editions came out of the factory. They do come up for sale occasionally, there was one the year before last in Leeds. PAINPal will only be taken if it sells on FEEBay, however it is at a starting price of £450. Current price on here is £400, I may take close offers in a few weeks, but not at the moment thanks . Please remember it's the Mrs trying to badger me down to 4 basses, not me , cheers, Karl.
