1. I've seen those fretboards before. Will do the research, but dim and distant memory is screaming Gianni at me. Well done FleaBay85 for taking the comments in such a positive way. Just really good you will be able to return .
2. Barrie, it's like a job interview. You do the prep, you get it or you don't. Thing is some interviewers are completely unprofessional knobs and the same applies more so with egotistical prats in bands. Hold your head up that you behaved with professionalism and dignity. We should all take happiness from Clarky's recent shenanigans. The right one is waiting for us, we just gotta make the effort and have patience. We all know your rep as a top bass dude. We should all name and shame bands who behave like this and BLACKLIST the ignorant twats. Karl.
3.
£750 is a great price to sell at! I hope you told the shop to go F*** themselves! Name and shame please. a.
Bang on Andy
4. Excellent stuff fella, voted, good luck. Karl.
5. It's an absolute beauty, it's on here, the Bay and Gumtree. Lovely maple board , you don't get that with the originals. Mr Hall has already had this one pulled 3 times and sent a snotty email to the Lobster.
6. OK, looked for this for 5 years as this was the make of bass I used in my nearly glory years (nostalgia is expensive ) No serial number so pre 75. White front, black chequered binding, black sides and back, natural neck and headstock. Issues. Tuners not original, change left holes in back of head stock. Originals are included in sale. Not convinced the jazz rotaries are original although both **** and copies have used them. I know the selector toggle is not original. The big one. Both pups work fine individually, but when both are selected, only one works, so it's a wiring issue. This is reflected in the price. I was going to get this done after next week but circumstances have overtaken me. Inevitably it has a few nicks, chips but it is in superb condition for a bass that is over 37 years old. This was never going to be up for sale, but Her Who Makes Toast by Breathing on Bread has declared back to 4 basses or lose your small genitalia. Reason for sale is I have been extra-ordinarily lucky and this morning I picked up a 1998 FENDER!! Donald "Duck" Dunn Limited Edition Precision. Something has to go. To me, ***** and copies need playing with a pick. I don't play that way now, so this is the one that's gotta go. Will courier to UK after clearance of funds. £400 collected, £425 couriered after clearance of funds (cheque/bank transfer) UK mainland Highlands/Ireland will cost more. Sorry, no PAINPal, abroad only if YOU arrange courier to pick up, and YOU arrange insurance. Apologies. Please check my feedback, any questions fire away, Previous FEEBay sale on the link below. cheers, Karl. SOME WORDS EDITED IN LIGHT OF RECENT EVENTS!!!! Bugger, forgot the trade bit. Only trade considered, EBS NEO LINE, 212, or 210 or 410, 4 ohms, must be immaculate.Ta. http://basschat.co.u...tely-staggered/
7.
Karl, i think you were right about me becoming a gear whore... I want this... even though I have a very similar one sitting 3 feet from me!
It's a slippery slope . Now, regarding my earlier bump, points for spotting the change in my sig . Bump for a fabulous bass!
8. Dave has just done a 400 mile round trip to pick up what was my Berg HT322. Decisive, did everything he said he would, supremely easy transaction. Absolutely fabulous bloke, deal with confidence. By the way, he is one Hell of a bass guitarist. Enjoy Dave and my thanks, Karl.
9.
My thoughts too, on a few levels! But we try our best to help out the community. a.
Steady lads, long way to go
10. Watch this space , bump. Edit, Quick look in the Wanted section and both Woolf and BassGurumonster were looking for one.
11.
Yeah I know, but were numerous threads on this years ago on RickResource - they do get a little hot under the collar about it. The twin truss-rods is just one of the things to look for. Simlarily a real Rick doesn't have binding around the back of the bridge area, there were at least a couple more that I don't remember; the real [s]anals[/s] experts on it could tell from the shape of the top horn & the headstock.
And the shape of the string holes on the bridge . Edit, shouldn't this be moved to Rickenfakers
12. I think this was bought from Rumble last year, who bought it from Andy Travis the year before. Despite going back through both threads cant quite fathom out what the pups are, so sorry, tried but I was no help . I keep wanting to buy this every time it comes up, but having just got a Rick copy, timing has buggered me. Good luck, Karl.
13. And this, or one almost exactly the same, has been for sale on and off since at least last autumn.
14. You might want to try PM, he's been offline since 13th March. Fairly sure he's on tour with Marseilles. Good luck,
15. As well as Basschat, you have the local options on Gumtree, Preloved and to a lesser extent, Northwest bands. Most things on the local sections of the site should be easily close enough to go and have a look/play. For example, a month or so back, on both Manchester and Liverpoll Gumtree, there was a stunning, natural Fender Deluxe Precision at a very reasonable £600. Wish I'd bought the bugger now . The hardest and most important factor is PATIENCE . Good luck, Karl.
16. Check the Myspace link below, one of our guitards plus the drummer are both "lifelong Evertonians" . And it's a last bump from him
17.
The body may be gone, but the spirit and legend will live on.
Amen to that
18.
The back of the bridge where the binding on that one goes all the way around? It'd be easy enough to take a pic of the twin trussrods to prove it's genuine, without that pesky TRC getting in the way anyway.
Some Fakers have twin truss rods, my CMI did
19. Yeah, he was an active member on here just long enough to put up his advert
20. Now get it bought so Jon can buy somebody else's Berg . Bump.
21. Top class fella me lad, transactions just don't come any easier thanks Derrick. Highly recommended. Cheers, Karl.
22. Hello and welcome back Ian. You've certainly come to the right place to catch up, the knowledge, experience and sharing on here is incredible. One warning, beware the GAS . Believe me, you will come to fear it. Enjoy bud, Karl.
23. Some say he is called Beardy Sev. All I know is that it was an extremely easy transaction and he should be know as a recommended person . Enjoy Sev, cheers, Karl.
