1. You turn up, tell the man on the door/ticket table your name and you get in for £5. Bish bash bosh. I'll have you down for John +1. Any one else you know who'd want to come along, pass me on their names. We're on at 8pm. See you then! Dan
2. They are worth a listen to! Don't get me wrong! But I do think there are a lot better out there. It's all very well having this spec and that spec, but as the old saying goes, it's all in the fingers. After my experience with bf cabs, I was left feeling underwhelmed. And that's all, they're not bad cabs but they're not as good as my mark bass. Or Aguilar cabs and definitely not as good as the tks. If I was given one I wouldn't be upset, just happier with something else. A few people have mentioned the finish on bf cabs. I have to agree, I think the finish isn't as good as a lot of other manufacturers. Paying a premium price for something that looks like it's covered in hammerite is not something I'd be happy with. Dan
3. I have one of these heads, and I can morrow what you say about them. Best head I've ever used, I love it! Good luck with the sale! Dan
4. I'd strongly recommend looking at TKS cabs. My personal experience is they have far more thicker, fuller and beefier bottoms end. Not to mention cheaper if you go for the ceramic ones. The build quality is outstanding as well and their range is more an options list and you build your cabs from that. WoT has 2 and loves them, like I say, from personal experience the tks wipes the floor with many other 112's. If not all! Dan
5. I have a lot of respect for Mars, his band from what I've seen on the tv are outstanding! I had more respect when I scanned through the sleeve notes of Cee-lo Green's album and saw that, Bruno Mars co wrote and played all instruments on forget you. As well as several other tracks. Talented man. Did any one ring him and tell him sting wanted his track back? Dan
6. No worries John, I'll have you down for 2. Not sure how much you save, but £5 a ticket isn't bad, Ahab are really good to! Dan
7. I'm supporting Ahab with Chloe And The High Tides at the Cluny in Newcastle on the 15th October, we're pop rock Americana with very catchy hooks. It would be great to see some basschatters down there. If you pass me your names you'll be able to get in for £5 on the door. Dan
8. I have a fretless one of these (non conversion) and I can vouch for their sound. Excellent bass, I use mine for pretty much everything! Good luck with the sale. The buyer will be very happy! Dan
9. Sounds really good! Is it safe to go back in the water then? Dan
10. It may be worth mentioning, yes custom moulds are £150+, but you can make that back in 3 pub gigs. £150 or your hearing? Dan
11.
I'm wondering if the extreme skinniness of my Ibanez neck isn't causing me so trouble as well. As the neck does tend to make my hand cramp up a bit after a little while. Are there any necks out there that are a jazz width, but deeper profile than the Ibanez? How's the mustang neck profile? I don't know why but I feel a little reluctant to go short scale. Are they not terribly cramped up the top end?
I can't comment on the mustang neck, but a neck has never made that much of a difference to play on for me. Ok, some are just a bit bulky, but over all, the action height has made more of a difference. The easier it is to fret a string the less energy you have to use. As for short scale, do you play up the top end a lot? Enough to warrant being put off? If it'll make life more comfortable then go for it, I'm sure there's a music shop with one in stock near you. Dan
