1.
Karl, I have decided that you are just going to have to give me this bass! Nah, but more seriously, I'd have it off you in a flash if I was a bit more flush. good luck andy
I hear and obey Master
2. Sadly way past my budget on anything. Good luck bump, it's one Hell of a bass.
3.
Think I have just wet my pants. What can I sell
Ric...........I'll get me coat bump
4. OK, so why on earth would I check my facts before banging my gums . Apologies Lawrence, having checked some old photo's, the Badass is original, and the rotary nearest the neck was, in for active, out for passive. The only difference I can see from when I had it commissioned is it had 4 chrome rotaries, not 3 black plastic Jazz, 1 chrome. As our younger brethren appear to say, My Bad . Fantastic bass. Karl.
5. I've had a few real and some quality fakers (off to the tower with him) over the years. When I was younger they worked fine, as I played with a pick. Nowadays I just use fingers and any form of Rick just doesn't feel right to me, if not played with a pick. Weird and psycho cobblers but there you have it. As has been said before horses for courses, good one and bad ones. Shame some of us just have to keep trading to the Holy Grail
6.
SO cheap!! I would bite your hand off if i had the money! Good Luck and Bump!
Thank you. I would agree it is a reasonable price for a quality Limited Edition bass.
7. Some of us have had nearly 1500 views in just over 3 days with no firm offers . Mind, that is one gorgeous bass
8.
Bollox, another no-poster
And you, a God fearing man, tut tut (hope your health is improving, and a jolly splendid bass kinda bump)
9. PM's replied and still here. Mind. so is Lozz's Karl.
10. Trace one out and send it to Aurora Projects
11.
I had one of these.. it was gorgeous, and weight just short of nothing. I wish I'd hung on to it.
Cheers WOT Post # 4 http://www.talkbass....on-bass-491863/
12. I have just noticed this ad. This bass was made for me by Martin thoughout the summer of 2001, arriving in the November of that year. It was passive with a normal BBOT bridge, so the Badass and pre amp have been added since I sold it to Lawrence in 2009. When I commissioned this bass I had a superb job paying £50k+ PA and it was a lifetime treat to myself. That job went with an aggressive takeover, "We have our own area management sonny, shut the door on your way out". I sold it to Lawrence for £800 as I could get no interest in it at the time and financially we were in sh*t street. He was the only buyer, I was desperate. Now me and the Mrs have a master franchise with a greetings card company, working with 10 (11 from next week) franchisees. Life is better, but I will always miss this bass. The point of this sob story? Buy this bass, IT IS PHENOMINAL!
13.
Give us yer Lakland Karl.......
Aye, cos that's gonna happen Lloyd. Not even for the legendary Pheonix dude . Meanwhile, if anybody wants these photo's emailing to them they may come out a bit better than they appear here. Cheers, Karl.
14. The VAT increase last January affected every single person in Britain. On top of that exchange rates have not helped. Prices in particular of Japanese basses increased and the second hand basses appear to have increased, certainly in the mind of the sellers. As an example a year ago, Marcus Millers were going for around £600, now people are asking as much as £850/£900. Then they wonder why they don't sell?. Market forces usually will out. Karl.
15. Go up in value every year???? I would like to see his evidence for that sales claim.
16. Thanks for the comments (and bumps )fellas. Staggering 700+ views in 24 hours. Wish I had a digital camera to do it justice as I guess a lot of folk haven't seen one of these before. Good luck with the Blazer, fine basses/ Cheers, Karl.
17. No prob Lozz. When I first noticed this bass for some reason I didn't register the jazz pup and colour matched head stock. Must be an age thing
18. Sorry, I'm dim. Just to clarify, the pick up and tuners that are currently on the bass, are staying on the bass. The original tuners and pick up are also included in the sale price in case a new owner chooses to put it back to original spec. Ta, Karl.
19. Just noticed this this morning Lozz. I've put my Fender Duck Dunn up to try to get this. This ticks EVERY box on my ideal P list. Worst case scenario, you sell it I keep me Duck, not exactly life or death then. Good luck (to me)
20. 1998 FENDER Japan Donald "Duck" Dunn Precision. Number 0231 of 1000 made, Mr Dunn allegedly has no's 1 and 2. 150 made it to the USA, who knows where the rest went. Very Limited Edition. Based on one of his original Sunburst 58's. Candy Apple Red, gold coloured anodised plate, maple neck and board, 42mm nut width. I have not seen one for sale on Basschat since I joined 3 years ago. Original owner bought it in Jan 1999 from Oasis music,l got it recently from him. Generally very good nick, but well gigged and it shows. Issues. Jack socket could do with replacing. Bridge screws rusty, as is some of bridge and scratchplate screws. Wear on the G string side from frets 4/6. Nasty little dink and couple of scratches on top horn. Dink in back of neck behind 1st fret, a little buckle rash on back. Couple of dinks in headstock. NOTHING is anything other than minor. Original pup included, currently has professionally fitted SD Quarter Pounder SP3. Original tuners included, currently has professionally fitted Kluson reverse. Now looking at getting that there FenderBird. If that goes this will get withdrawn. £550 collected from Wigan, £575 delivered, sorry, no offers. ABSOLUTELY NO SALE OUTSIDE UK/IRELAND! Any questions please just ask, and have a look at my feedback (there is a negative bit there now, so please read carefully). Sorry, NO PAINPal Below is a link to a bit on a Fender Forum.
Just to clarify.... It wasn't John Hall, it was me. I thought it would be funny but it was naughty and I apologise for any offence caused.
We all knew it was somebody lightening the mood. It wasn't funny, it was bloody hilarious . Anybody who took offence really should think about why they took offence. Bizarre isn't it, having to be careful with words? Keep 'em coming Conan, I'm a fan and Mr. Hall can't stop me thinking or laughing.
