OK, so why on earth would I check my facts before banging my gums . Apologies Lawrence, having checked some old photo's, the Badass is original, and the rotary nearest the neck was, in for active, out for passive. The only difference I can see from when I had it commissioned is it had 4 chrome rotaries, not 3 black plastic Jazz, 1 chrome. As our younger brethren appear to say, My Bad . Fantastic bass. Karl.

I have just noticed this ad. This bass was made for me by Martin thoughout the summer of 2001, arriving in the November of that year. It was passive with a normal BBOT bridge, so the Badass and pre amp have been added since I sold it to Lawrence in 2009. When I commissioned this bass I had a superb job paying £50k+ PA and it was a lifetime treat to myself. That job went with an aggressive takeover, "We have our own area management sonny, shut the door on your way out". I sold it to Lawrence for £800 as I could get no interest in it at the time and financially we were in sh*t street. He was the only buyer, I was desperate. Now me and the Mrs have a master franchise with a greetings card company, working with 10 (11 from next week) franchisees. Life is better, but I will always miss this bass. The point of this sob story? Buy this bass, IT IS PHENOMINAL!

No prob Lozz. When I first noticed this bass for some reason I didn't register the jazz pup and colour matched head stock. Must be an age thing

Sorry, I'm dim. Just to clarify, the pick up and tuners that are currently on the bass, are staying on the bass. The original tuners and pick up are also included in the sale price in case a new owner chooses to put it back to original spec. Ta, Karl.

Just noticed this this morning Lozz. I've put my Fender Duck Dunn up to try to get this. This ticks EVERY box on my ideal P list. Worst case scenario, you sell it I keep me Duck, not exactly life or death then. Good luck (to me)

1998 FENDER Japan Donald "Duck" Dunn Precision. Number 0231 of 1000 made, Mr Dunn allegedly has no's 1 and 2. 150 made it to the USA, who knows where the rest went. Very Limited Edition. Based on one of his original Sunburst 58's. Candy Apple Red, gold coloured anodised plate, maple neck and board, 42mm nut width. I have not seen one for sale on Basschat since I joined 3 years ago. Wear on the G string side from frets 4/6. Nasty little dink and couple of scratches on top horn. Dink in back of neck behind 1st fret, a little buckle rash on back. Couple of dinks in headstock. NOTHING is anything other than minor. Original pup included, currently has professionally fitted SD Quarter Pounder SP3. Original tuners included, currently has professionally fitted Kluson reverse.
