1.
What you got your eye on now Karl? Bump for a top guy!
What week is it Adam? . To my eternal shame this is my 5th amp this year, talk about gear tart . In fairness I took a punt when I exchanged this for my EBS TD650, and as lovely an amp as it is, it's too complicated for my family braincell, even when the Mrs. lets me borrow it. Thanks for the kind words dude! Right, Mr. Staccato, Mr. Schroeder (6th cab this year ) and Mr. Yam Att Special (going to grave with me) are off to frighten the good folk of Northwich for a jolly evening of Gerry Rafferty, Foo Fighters, Maiden, Metallica and of course, MR.BIG . Speak soon fella, Karl.
2. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome, and thoughts with his family.
3. Superb basses for the money. When this was new they were only about £400/£450, so he's not trying to take recent price hikes into consideration, well done that man. Think this "mark 11" kinda model had graphite rods as well, but I can't be arsed to check
4.
I guess it's perfectly reasonable for someone who has a custom shop strat ot tele to want a spare neck plate and screws......as opposed to some chancer who wants to fake a non CS into a CS....? There again, I could just be being cynical (again)?
Or not.
5. I had one of these in the early 80's, fantastic bass but so heavy. Couldn't do 2 hours with one now, lady boy that I am
6. Recently traded my EBS for this. Great amp, stunning condition but too complicated for a coffin dodger like me. TC Electronic | Staccato ' 51 - the sound of a legend Includes amp itself, TC gig bag, speakon to speakon, plus the footswitch. Bass direct have 4 in at £750, not including the £40 gig bag and £135 footswitch, GAK have them at £969, not including bag, footswitch. It has two TINY chips in the red paint, front edge top, but can only see them up close. Amp, gig bag, footswitch, £550 collected from Wigan, or plus £15 courier. IF, and only IF , purchaser of the amp does not want the footswitch I will sell the footswitch seperately. So that would be; Amp plus gig bag. £500 collected, or plus £15 couriered. Footswitch, £80 posted. UK only please and no PAINPAL. Anybody wants to come round and try it, they are welcome. Sorry about crap photos, one appears to have been taken on the move
7. Just bought an amp off Peter, fantastic guy to deal with, doesn't get any easier. Top comms, product and deal. All the best and thanks for everything, cheers, Karl.
8.
What was it called now..? 'Dyson with Death', that's it.
Gags like that, you are pal .
9. I wish I'b put gloves on before looking at those photos. Even the pictures make me feel unclean. Whose turn to get the pitchforks and burning lanterns, this abomination is surely the work of Beelzebub
10. Finally, I understand. Many thanks folks, Karl.
11.
Doesn't that breach employment law on the grounds of being a) sexist and ageist? Just saying... Of course, I'm a bloke in my 30s who's about 8lb too heavy, with nay titties at all, so it might just be me being a bit grumpy.
And fat-ist
12. Many thanks Mr. Rock sir. Changing from flats to rounds on a bass tonight, think I will need a little less concave as should be lower tension. I can always get Ritchie to sort it after I've cocked it up .
13. I nearly always get Ritchie Thompson to do mine, because I've always been afraid to ask the following question; here goes, from Mr. Dumbass, turn the truss rod left = to loosen the truss rod = less concave neck. True or false? I can do all the other bits, it's always this bit that confuses me.
14. No theory here I'm afraid. Started off metal, as I matured got into Jaco, got the tablature (quiet Bilbo please ) and learned so much doing it all very very slowly. More recently using Youtube to learn some of Mr. Sheehan's stuff. I will never be a patch on either of those chaps, but everything learned is a bit more enjoyment. Band I'm in are all 50's coffin dodgers, set up to gig once a fortnight, we will actually do over 40 gigs this year. I don't need to be Billy Sheehan to play live. Take your time and enjoy every little success. My greatest bass lesson learned? How to slide out of a bum note and get away with it. Mind, I've had a lot of practice with that . Fumps, I will guarentee you are a lot better than you think mate, all the best, Karl.
15. Welcome Joel, enjoy the site and good luck with your new passion. Not actually bought any bass mag since the demises of Bass and Bass Guitarist. That was a sad day. May just have a look in the near future. All the best brave one, cheers, Karl.
16. That'll be nope!
17. Uhm, that didn't work out too well. Cheesy what ho?
18. Bump to help sell, to stop it hurting me looking at this, because I can't afford it. No, I shall not man up, I will silently weep at life's frustrations . Wonderful, wonderful bass.
19. The last few that have come up have been around the £400 mark.
20. Brill, enjoy. Remember us lot when it's Wembley!!!!
21. I only give in to GAS when I'm awake.
22. And a warm welcome from Whelley (well I can see the Reebok from where I live)
23. Bloody hell, that Schroeder is a steal
24.
Read the manual Karl!!!!! tis easy!
Yup did that, several times .
Press shift then turn the gain down to zero if I remember correctly, but a lot of people (including myself) think it sounds like a little compression is baked into the natural sound of the amp, plus that particular model is based on Roccos tone, and he likes compression.
Yup, think you are right, so think it's always going to have some compression.
25. I have had this 3 days, its not new, but almost immaclate. With it's redness, flashing lights and super dooper footswitch it looks the poodles privates. How the *$%* do you turn the compressor off? I hate them . Expert advice please or this is going to be the shortest length of time I have EVER had an amp. Ta in advance, Karl.
