1. Wonder if we all do this self justification? Damn, that was a stupid question
2. Hope you don't mind Delberthot, but here's mine with brown tortie plate If you do mind, I'll delet this post, cheers, Karl.
3. Bump for Beedster for a fabulous bass. Bump for Clarky for picking my fave ever Genesis track. OOOh, I've come over all nostalgic, wanna form a prog covers band this minute. Karl.
4. Thanks for the comments folks. Not at all jealous of ANOTHER 77 Precision Lozz Delberthot had the good grace to point out in a PM that Thomann are doing these at £625, but obviously without the £50 custom brown tortie plate. So, it's just a bit more than £100 saving, not including the extra plate, against their price. I don't think that's bad really considering all I've done is test it 8 weeks ago and set it up this afternoon. Cheers, Karl
5.
I'm just about to purchase a OBT. I'm wondering if I'd be better getting the 1000 or for most gigs would a 500 be ok? I think I'm going to get a SP210 to go with it as I can pick on up s/h easily enough. And also an Orange mini stack looks the nuts. Could you add a second SP210 to boost the volume at bigger gigs? If money was no object (and if it was orange) I'd get a barefaced compact.
The 1000 watt will only give you about 3db more than the 500. The Bass Terror is switchable between 4 and 8 ohms. The SP21O is 8 ohms, so using two is no prob, just set the swich on the back of the amp to 4ohms. Enjoy.
6. Bought 8 weeks ago, never used as I immediately took off the original parchment scratchplate, sent if off to get the brown tortie one done. The brown tortie turned up YESTERDAY . There is a lot of info regarding these on the net. Supposedly only 150 for Europe. Links below are just a small example. P/J pups, active, jazz 70's style neck, Precision body. There is something rather special on here that I am after so I am prepared to take a big hit on this. Bear in mind it will be second hand but unused. £520 collected from Wigan, £540 couriered, bank transfer or cleared cheque. UK only, no PAINPal sorry. Comes with gig bag, original scratchplate and documents. It will only be for sale as long as the special thing I have my eye on. Just hope it doesn't all go horribly wrong with timing . As ever, any questions, and if you are close enough, more than welcome to come round and try it, cheers, Karl. (and now, my pathetic photos ) The picture of the back of the headstock looks like it's chipped, it's not, just light or my camera skills. The bass is unmarked.
7. So glad this isn't maple board or I'd be in trouble again. Bump.
8. Great cab, great seller. Good luck with the sale Olly, Karl.
9.
Are there any rock/metal players using Genz Benz amps or isn't it really suited to that sort of stuff?
The cover band I'm in do over 40 gigs a year (originally was to be no more than one a fortnight) we cover from Bad Co Can't Get Enough through to Iron Maiden Afraid to Shoot Strangers through to Metallica Am I Evil. My 6 does it no probs, against the rest of the band going through the PA (no PA woofers, I'm not allowed through it, but the bass drum is???)
10.
A kiddie from a band who were supporting us t'other day said to our guitarist, as he set up his shiny Blackstar half stack & dean guitar infront of our blokes battered old Laney combo & tatty squier strat (albeit an early American built one) "you make do with that old amp & copy, do you?" I'll let you guess who had the better sound & didn't spend the entire set fiddlin, a twiddling, squatting down listening & grimacing?!?!? ;-)
Oh boy, is THAT familiar!
11. I had Shuttle 6, sold it, waffled about with other amps in between, got another Shuttle 6. When I first turned up with the "Car radio" as I like to call it, the guitards were, "you are joking right?" Sound check, TURN IT DOWN!!!! It is the simplicity and out of the box sound that makes me smile. The weight is just a massive bonus. No amp GAS for me. Did I mention I was jealous of you Karl.
12. Can't believe this is still here, especially with that lovely maple board. And with a bolt on neck that can be shimmed!
13. I had a Sonic Blue one in the early eighties, made 73 think it was. Looked stunning, sounded stunning, played like a plank with strings. Paid £80 for it and sold it for about £150 about 1990.
14. Still gutted my van was off the road and I missed your Schroeder 21015 Olly. I bought the 1515L as a stopgap whilst waiting for a 410L to come up, but got to admit rather liking the thump of the 2 x 15.
15.
Good god that truly is a thing of beauty!
Oh yes!!!!
16. Thickening plot
17. Dear God, I wish I could sell my Precision
18. Surprisingly little interest in this bass. The link below is the previous owners ad (hope that's ok John, your photography is so much better than mine ever will be). These were before I put the Sheehan style fret markers on. SOLD : US Fender Precision - Black, Black, Maple Please note, the link with sold on it is from when I bought it. This bass is still currently for sale. The link to the previous owners thread is simply because his photos are so much better
19. Very nice. I've just lost out on the trade on the White one (complicated 3 way trade, 3rd man changed his mind). Might be an idea to let folk know what area you are from? Have a good luck bump, Karl.
20. Came across this (no innuendo Discreet ) by accident tonight. Just, WOW
