1.
Doesn't that breach employment law on the grounds of being a) sexist and ageist? Just saying... Of course, I'm a bloke in my 30s who's about 8lb too heavy, with nay titties at all, so it might just be me being a bit grumpy.
And fat-ist
2. Many thanks Mr. Rock sir. Changing from flats to rounds on a bass tonight, think I will need a little less concave as should be lower tension. I can always get Ritchie to sort it after I've cocked it up .
3. I nearly always get Ritchie Thompson to do mine, because I've always been afraid to ask the following question; here goes, from Mr. Dumbass, turn the truss rod left = to loosen the truss rod = less concave neck. True or false? I can do all the other bits, it's always this bit that confuses me.
4. No theory here I'm afraid. Started off metal, as I matured got into Jaco, got the tablature (quiet Bilbo please ) and learned so much doing it all very very slowly. More recently using Youtube to learn some of Mr. Sheehan's stuff. I will never be a patch on either of those chaps, but everything learned is a bit more enjoyment. Band I'm in are all 50's coffin dodgers, set up to gig once a fortnight, we will actually do over 40 gigs this year. I don't need to be Billy Sheehan to play live. Take your time and enjoy every little success. My greatest bass lesson learned? How to slide out of a bum note and get away with it. Mind, I've had a lot of practice with that . Fumps, I will guarentee you are a lot better than you think mate, all the best, Karl.
5. Welcome Joel, enjoy the site and good luck with your new passion. Not actually bought any bass mag since the demises of Bass and Bass Guitarist. That was a sad day. May just have a look in the near future. All the best brave one, cheers, Karl.
6. That'll be nope!
7. Uhm, that didn't work out too well. Cheesy what ho?
8. Bump to help sell, to stop it hurting me looking at this, because I can't afford it. No, I shall not man up, I will silently weep at life's frustrations . Wonderful, wonderful bass.
9. The last few that have come up have been around the £400 mark.
10. Brill, enjoy. Remember us lot when it's Wembley!!!!
11. I only give in to GAS when I'm awake.
12. And a warm welcome from Whelley (well I can see the Reebok from where I live)
13. Bloody hell, that Schroeder is a steal
14.
Read the manual Karl!!!!! tis easy!
Yup did that, several times .
Press shift then turn the gain down to zero if I remember correctly, but a lot of people (including myself) think it sounds like a little compression is baked into the natural sound of the amp, plus that particular model is based on Roccos tone, and he likes compression.
Yup, think you are right, so think it's always going to have some compression.
15. I have had this 3 days, its not new, but almost immaclate. With it's redness, flashing lights and super dooper footswitch it looks the poodles privates. How the *$%* do you turn the compressor off? I hate them . Expert advice please or this is going to be the shortest length of time I have EVER had an amp. Ta in advance, Karl.
16. Any photos to see the condition please?
17. Somebody buy this for Gods sake, I do NOT need 2 amps Bump.
18.
Was that the one black, one sunburst? If so, I've already spoken to him and he too prefers a wider neck, cheers though. Gigged it again at the weekend and if a Bob G doesn't turn up or if I try one and don't like it I'll be happy to keep this, still looking to trade at the moment though.
Yes, it WAS
19. After much psychological warfare I have managed to part Steve from one of his Lakkies. Seriously though, absolutely top geezer, doesn't get any better, deal with confidence. Many thanks Steve
20.
I need your email address please pm me
I didn't want to say anything
21. Think Bob sent this Schroeder out to me before I'd bought it . Superb easy transaction with a great down to earth bloke, cheers Bob and all the best, Karl.
22. He hasn't been online since May 14th.
23.
it's been on gumtree a while. maybe talk to him through that for a better deal?
Cheers LukeFRC, desperately trying to hold onto a gig money float until after my holidays, but..............................
24.
Have you played a Fortress at all Karl? I've got one you could try - different pickups, but you'd get the feel of it.
Cheers Mentor Muzz (somebody needs to keep me right ) I really liked the look of these back in the day and I went to Sound Control (or perhaps McCormacks?) in Glasgow. Tried one out (for about 2 hours I think), was about 40 quid short on cash. Didn't put a deposit in, went back next day and it was gone. Only one I have ever seen in the flesh. Sounded fantastic and looked fantasic. If I hadn't agreed to buy a Bob Glaub an hour before I had seen this, I would just have got it, sod "investment". Bet there isn't another one along in a minute
