1. They are indeed lovely. Couldn't get on with the shape though as a gigging bass.
2.
No. Mines like new which actually annoys me, i really want the arm contour to wear a little bit. I think they look amazing with a little wood visible on the arm contour but then im just wierd like that
You'll like mine then! I'll try and get a pic up this weekend
3.
late 70's - the paintwork has gone that mottled colour on the sides like a lot of the black ones did - is yours the same?
I've got a late 70's (black/black/rosewood) which hasn't done that but my friend bought a near immaculate 79 and nearly before our eyes as we took it out of the case, the bottom of the body started turning that milky blue colour. Days later the finish started to get the familiar hair line cracks. Very weird, would love to know what causes that reaction.
4.
[sub][/sub]
Good man
5. They are absolutely cracking cabs. Use mine with a p bass and LMII, couldn't be happier. Cheers for the review
6. I also had this setup and it rips. Very good value.
7. I've had a couple of standard sets recently and they seem fine, still plenty of life after about 4 months. I do like them when they settle down a bit though.
8. I've had to tune a whole step down due to singers vocals for about a year now. Hated it to start with but kind of got used to it. I always tune back up after practice/gigs and it doesn't seem to affect the neck on my mid 70's Precision and Squier Jazz.
9. RIP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3WOdnA3TMGU
10. BF Compact is doing it for me at the moment, an amazing cab.
11. I bump the mids a bit on my LMII and go easy on the bass control on the BDI, sounds great to me and my band members.
12.
What's the problem with 70s fenders ? Sorry if it seems a silly question , I am on the lookout for one and would be good to know !
I've got a 78, swamp ash, 8lbs featherweight, resonant, great strong pickups etc. I much prefer 70's Fenders over 60's ones
13. What Discreet says, I have a BDI-21 into a LMII and it does a great job, especially for the price
14.
To mix a compact with a "cheap" cab would seem to be rather self-defeating...
You're right. I don't really need an additional cab at all, had another practice with it and it's huge enough on its own.
15. I'm also interested in this. Something fairly cheap would be a bonus!
16. Mike bought a P bass body from me, super swift payment and a top man to boot
17. Barefaced Compact goes very nicely with my LMII. Had a Schroeder 1212 before that, also very good combo.
