1. Regardless, the man is a legend. Cheers for the shots 99ster, I love seeing pics of that bass. I really want to know if that is a replacement neck or whether he painted the headstock. it has a skunk stripe at the back os am confused! I love his playing, was listening to the crooked beat just last night.
2. That does look very nice, tho doesnt have original pick guard, needs two holes at top for thumb rest. Might be interested though!
3.
In due course, could you let us know how the 62 compares tone-wise mainly but also other aspects, to the 66 and the 70's basses. I know this is subjective, but you are probably in a rare category of players that has experienced all these different era fender basses. It is a wonderful bass you have - many congratulations!
+1 I still think my 75 and 78 are the finest P's Ive heard and played. I would love to know what these 'holy grail' basses are all about.
4. Good lord, you sir are an animal! would love to hear what some of these beauties sound like.
5. Had my rosewood 75 Precision re fretted at The Gallery. Absolutely top notch job. Real care and attention to detail and very reasonable price.
6. The best Jazz Ive played and owned for 20 years is my Korean Squire, quite weighty but delivers that beautiful 'nasaly' tone with the front pup rolled slightly off. Worst one Ive played and owned for a week was a mim, was bloody awful in every way. Heard good reviews of the MIA's but you've really got to go and play for yourself, every guitar is diferent.

Super-quick and helpful response, quick delivery, great price and an absolutely splendid top quality jack lead. That's how to do business! Cheers Dave
8. I've got a 2004 version, same colour and f/b and can confirm that it is a stonkingly good bass. Really well made with no issues.
9. Yep, Muse. Toured with them in 98 with us headlining most nights. They were very good back then, very focussed. I think they signed to Maverick soon after. Our old manager now looks after some pretty huge bands coming out of Brighton. Ho hum!
10. Good stuff. Did the same to my 76p, took ages to strip by hand and my hands were f*cked at the end. Got a pro re-fin, well worth it, looks the business! Look forward to the progress.
11. Yep, always got alot of inspiration from your collection and exploits. Good work sir. Is it the original pickup in the fretted 71? or did you bung a thumper in there? Ive got a 75 P and Im toying with the idea of giving wizard a go.
12. I have one, its about 4 years old. Done all sorts of gigs with it, used it for rehearsles etc. Great little amp for the money, nice tone and I guess would sound ace coupled with 2 10's. Never had a reliability issue with it.
13. Nice collection and great to see a fellow town fan!
14. Ooooh lovely. That 74 is mint. Great collection.
15. Yup, free bump on me. Has come in useful on so many occasions. The battery holder bit snapped on mine too and does not effect it at all. Thats a bargain price.
16. I've got a 78 and75P, both completely different in sound and feel, the 78 has great construction quality and is a nice weight. The 75 has a slight overhang on the neck pocket which is classic for that period, does not affect playability and I find a nice quirk. My neck is snug to the top of the pocket but many have a large gap which can affect stability - something to look out for. Alot of people, including myself, go weak at the knees for a TV logo which is dangerous but if you've tried it and its a sweet player then you're onto a winner. There are good and bad from every decade.
17. Lovely looking P, I never really worry about nicks on necks etc. Is this Andy Viccars good? seems to come highly recommended here. Need a refret and he's pretty local to me.
18. Btw, how do the P's sound through your Markbass? I'm thinking of taking this route.
19. Very nice. I have one very similar which I had refinned aged oly white. It is a beast. Lovely collection you have.
20. I have a late 80's Korean Jazz, purchased from new and it is the absolute business. It is better crafted than most of my vintage Fenders. Will never get rid of it.
21. Bravo sir, been waiting for that for a while. Any chance of a group shot when you have the time? Splendid stuff.
22. i have an 80's Korean Squier Jazz, very similar to the Jap ones and it really is one of the nicest Ive ever played, this is including many 60's and 70's Fenders. Solid build, slightly weighty, lovely fret work and neck and that proper nasely Jazz tone. Ive had it for almost 20 years and gone through many basses, this ones a keeper. Most early to mid 80's Jap Fenders Ive played have been top notch. Ty it out and see.
23. Yep that looks lovely. Fretboard looks v nice. How much was it if you mind me asking?
