i started looking through those as a film started, the films just finished, about 5 minutes before i did!! i'm positively worn out after that! and so much for 65 pages, there's over 100! not that i'm complaining

there are quite a few cab and amp makers which are said to work well with both upright and electric basses. Euphonic Audio, Acoustic Image and Glockenklang are a few that spring to mind. and if you thought the Markbass stuff sounded good, then that too. as for switching between the 2. an amp with 2 imput channels, or a small mixer before the amp will make changes quicker. and then stands for the 2 instruments not only to keep them safe, but to save space.

thats the one that was for sale here (or one very much like it). but no, the one i used to lust over and a much lighter top, on of the non adjustable wooden bridges, 2 or 3 control knobs that were like those big scroler knobs on rack gear (sorry, bad explenation). IIRC i saw it once on Talkbass, might have a search over there

ahh yes, i've drooled over the Alfonso stuff for years, after finding a pic of a singlecut with a top in the shap of a double cut (like the one that was for sale on here), if you imagine the first bass you posted, but as a single cut. took me a long time to find out who actually made it. it's a shame the picture has since dissapeared as it's still one of the most beautiful basses i've ever laid eyes on!

i often debate (with myself) on ebay wether it's better to wait until right at the end to put a bid in or get in early with my top price. if you wait, then people your bidding against have less time to decide wether they want to part with the extra cash. but if you get it in early, you might scare others off by making them thin 'well if it's at that price already it'll probably go higher' still haven't decided which is best. but i'd say come up with a price your willing to pay. put it in, and don't look again until the auctions over. so many times i've ended up paying over the odds for something just because i get over excited and keep upping my bid. are you close enough to go try it?

people use it as a way to get more money from from things they sell. unfortunatly not a lot can be done about it. if you don't like the postage, don't buy it.

now THIS has got me GASing!! there's one on that guys ebay shop at the moment. but it's not got a flame, if it did, it'd be MINE!

i noticed these basses on the Schroeder site. very interesting. the first thing that came into my head was about the cut between the bridge and p'up, surely if that has [i]any[/i] effect on the bass it would be negative?? i mean, there's a gap that will surely create tension (and to some degree movement?) just below the bridge, which would suck any tonal properties of the wood out of the sound? i have no actual knowladge to back any of this up BTW, i'm just thinking out loud... and if Mr S likes them enough to stock them they're obviously not [i]bad[/i] EDIT:oh, and i think they look very nice. rememinds somewhat of the Spalt basses.

i'm sorry but that body is just awfull! and i don't mean that in that i think it's ugly. it just hasn't been well designed. all the contours and lines are out of whack. with wood that old i think they should have spent a little more time making sure they got the lines right..
