2. i really like the way the colours work at the moment, i with what you say the finish will be doing (with the orange and grey) it's gonna be something REALLY special looking forward to it
3. if only i lived in Plymouth! you have a very impressive gigging schedule and your music is great! best of luck
4. fantastic!
5. i quite like it but it would be better without the neck inlay... and the price tag...
6.
What a great bass - according to the advert, each neck has ITS OWN TRUSSROD, so they don't have to share one. A real category-killer ...
LMAO!
7. ha ha! didn't think anybody had bothered with this thread, forgot about it TBH. the tracks are up on our Myspace page; http://www.myspace.com/renthousegroove the tracks Soul Testify, Kissing My Love and A Few Dollars More are recorded with the Fender. enjoy
8. and 26 fretts on the 5 string aswell. no slapping on that neck... defret the 5 fo sho!
9. "Seeing as she's going for a song, hardly any point posting if you're in the area, so collection possible from Cambridge." how about.. uh.. Aly & AJ. - Walking On Sunshine? or was it a metaphor? seems like one of those bargains that are too good to be true oh, and seen as this is your first (and second) post. welcome to the forums
10. lol i would say welcome to the forums, but i see youve been a member for almost a year... edit: ha ha, that a lot better
11. my minds going a mile a minute now! 2 active basses modified to run on phantom power and 1 synth --> 4 channel mini mixing desk --> 600w active Glockenklang just gotta go change my trousers...
12.
http://www.bkelec.com/HiFi/ClassD/ClassD.htm I owned one of these.. All ya need to do is fit a lead to connect to the additional speaker cabinet. (A 5 min job, believe me.. then you are all set to go! £280 Infact, if you want to go the whole hog, these are actually designed to fint into a cabinet to make it active, but can be used standalone.
sh!t man, i completely forgot about that!! as soon as i've got the money, i'm going STRAIGHT for that. cheers for reminding me! i've been wasting time looking at expensive, unsuitable 1u poweramps for ages... thats a load off my mind.
13.
I think some of the criticism is a bit harsh. The Pat Hughes series of lessons weren't bad - he was fairly on the ball, and his series was with presenter Adam Payne (??) not some rock chick.
must be thinking of a different series of lessons. the ones i saw deffinitly weren't presented by a bloke...
14.
I think a ramp would annoy me. I dont like it when i hit the P/U's with my fingers or pick. ...but thats just me
Me to. i play in between the pickups, don't like the feel of playing over them, so a ramp would be no good for me either. horses for courses.
15. i remember watching some lessons on that, and laughing quite a lot. i would wager you could find much better lessons on the net
16. to keep a bit of consistency in spacing between strings and the hard bit under them. ie, when you play above the pickup, your fingers hit the pickup, but when your not playing over the pickups, your finger travels further.
17. oof that IS looking good isn't it! i see what you mean about the pickguard though. i think more people would make the connection between this and a music man WITH the pickguard. but it would be a shame to cover up those lovely neck laminates. glad it's not my decision
18. it's nice to hear of some progress, but it would be even better to see some progress oh, and they always look better than you anticipate, it's like, one of the best bits lol
19. a good few years ago i got really into effects. and ended up with an awful lot of them. it was great fun playing around with all these wonderful new sounds. but after a while i got fed up of carting these bludy things to jams and stopped taking them there. i then stopped taking them to smaller gigs and as time went by i completely stopped using them outside of home. so when my next bout of GAS hit, i had a lot of money tied up in pedals i never really used. so every single one of them got sold. then, a few years on, i started getting cravings to make stupid silly sounds. plus trying to get a live dnb band on the go. i wanted some effects, but alas. all were gone.... i guess what i'm trying to get across is, if you feel you want to stop using effects and get back to BASSics then go for it. but i wouldn't rush to sell on what you got. as months or years down the line they may prove their worth again.
20. how do you rate the headrush? have you played any other loopers to compare?
21. *sigh* thats another one of my ideas that turns out to have been done already.. at least they haven't done all of the idea... very nice looking basses, that elephant one is certainly an absolute work of art! i wonder though if it was actually made to be played or just admired though?
22. smooth as chocolate! yummy
23. just had a listen to the soundclips. theres a fair bit of distortion on the tracks, whats the source of that? distortion aside though, the bass is sounding fantastic it really is. and your playings not too shaby either congrats!
24. i've been joking with the guitarist in my band about getting one of those mini marshal stacks (two cabs with 10" speakers and a head taken from a 15w combo), getting the drummer a half size kit, and then getting short-scale guitars and basses, so all the band would look massive! then start a band called 'giants of funk' lol looks like this would have to be the bass amp! now if only we had loads of cash to blow on making a joke band...
